Today I went to Kinokuniya.
Anime fankids: *are looking at translated manga and making lots of noise*
Me: Heehee. It's Christmas. Aren't they cute.
Me: ...
Me: AND I AM THEIR QUEEN HOOHOOHAHAHAHA.
Me: Because tomorrow, I take the JLPT 1!
Me: Oh, SHIT I have to take it?!?! AAAGH NO.
I bought a lot of things. Don't even remember it all. Like the new version of Sailormoon, the whole series---why did I buy that? Omigod no. T_T And an art book, and um. I dunno. OH I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE ADVENT CHILDREN BOOK TO LOOK AT RUFUSSSSS. I bought so much crap they gave me a Detective Conan watch. Who wants it?
( Pre-exam/travel/general emo )
I don't really feel like putting up a detailed account of what I've done/eaten because it's not that important anyway, but um.
-Cafe Zaiya gave me my first real mont blanc. It was everything I wanted and so much MORE.
-Menchanko is still full of Japanese people, except for this one blonde woman last time I was there, and she didn't seem to appreciate the food anyway. (Weirdo.)
-Minamoto Kitchoan is still really expensive. And full of Japanese people. I did not get any namagashi, but then again they didn't have the temari I loved two years in a row. Assholes.
-Kinokuniya is still full of wonderful wonderful books, but the manga is on the first floor now. In place of the manga, on the second floor, is a mass of all things cute. I can't even describe it.
-Speaking of books, I saw none other than 嫌韓論...was that the name? In two Japanese bookstores. You know, the book with the article, that I just put up last week? Yeah. Of course it would be here. Some ribbon on the book gave me the impression that it was sold over 300,000 copies. Unfortunately they were wrapped in both cases and I was unable to get to the squishy racism inside for examples. I'm not sure getting to screech about it in my LJ is really worth throwing up in a bookstore in NYC, anyway.
-I saw a very scary ad on the inside of a little booklet about Asian food in NYC. I need to scan it when I get home. I'm not sure what to think. (It's Yellow Fever.)
-I visited Book Off completely by accident, but they didn't have that Korea book. It was interesting enough, but they didn't have anything I was relaly lusting after. Except cheapass cookbooks.
-We went through Rockefeller Center at about fourish. You know, the giant tree? The place where every shopping crowd IN THE FUCKING CITY seems to converge to gawk and carry shopping bags and tug along small children? Jesus fucking Christ.
-The American Girl outlet was also...like...there was a line just to get in. A line, all for things for little girls. And it was really big, too. On one hand, boy am I glad there's something nice and cute for little girls that they like, but I'm also wondering, is it because there's not nothing else that peddles to them? Or have they all just cruelly ignored the other stuff?
I DON'T GET IT.
I'm really, just. Oh, man, I really don't want to take my test tomorrow. Siiiiiiiiiggggggggh. Such hard work. And the question of passing. SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH.

You Are a Schoolgirl! |
![]() You're not quite as wild as a "kogyaru", but with your short plaid skirt and silly white socks, you're still a sexual fetish object. You can usually be seen hanging out in the girly section of the video game places, collecting photobooth stickers of you and your friends. You may not be as innocent as you look. Did those vending machine panties once belong to you? |
I DON'T GET IT.
