Head cold is now fully underway. My sinuses are as bad as always, even on Sudafed. I still don't qualify for antibiotics because I don't have a. colorful snot, b. a mild fever, or c. any significant increase in pain when I lean forward. I'm starting to entertain fantasies about someone sticking a hose or tweezers in there and pulling it all out. Snort honk honk. I am also having my period. (Yeah, that's great, Robin, we love hearing about all your secretions.)
I'm not sure if I posted this in my last entry, but the laptop that has done a thankless job for two years (first for my mother and then for me) is hanging on by a thread. Yesterday it overheated and suddently shut down in excess of five times, until I started bringing up ice packs from the freezer to put on it. Actually, it kept overheating after that, too. The fan is broken. I know. I hesitate to even take it apart because one of the hinges holding the monitor on is also broken and I might manhandle it a little too much and be unable to play RO for a few days (OMG!!!!).
One of these is on its way in the mail---5-10 days. I think I am enjoying my parents' generosity a little too much. They say I need a laptop for when we go to the country. Well, if you really think so, guys! But it's also looking more and more possible that the hard drive from the old desktop I've been trying to save for a year cannot be reused, and I might need a new desktop computer. I feel very guilty about my expenditures lately.
