The Nintendo DS kanji game I downloaded has revealed that my kanji writing skills are suffering from some pretty epic fail. Example: out of ten levels, I cleared a reading test for level 7 easily, and I might do more if the game would let me. Meanwhile, I can't clear level 2. I can't get over 55% in writing. On level 2.
DO I MAYBE CARE TOO MUCH?
Kind of a crummy week(end), barring the fireworks display. I arrived at the country estate/habitat to discover that my laptop can no longer find a dial tone when asked nicely to connect to the fucking internet. All the other family laptops work. Also, the dial tone works just fine thank you very much, until I plug my laptop in the phone line. Then it goes really quiet. And wireless works. My computer surely has some strange ailment. Or, because it's Vista, something got changed on me and now I'm screwed. Whatever, right?
Anyway, it's the first time I've spent 4 days without steady internet access and it's been a trial. Wow. I wonder what going to the beach for a week is going to be like this year? I seemed to manage well enough the last five years but I think it was mostly by cooking. =_= At the beach...in the thousand-year-old rental house kitchen that probably never gets used by visitors anyway...I missed the second two days of Aion beta 3 ;_; nooo.
I went to a fireworks display! I was planning two but I thought, I don't really need two freaking fireworks displays in two days. (What I really need is like a fireworks display every other month. Yeah.) I brought Yang and while I couldn't get him the corn dog he wanted, he did his part by noticing that they had chocolate bananas! That is a concept I would have embraced long ago if I'd just known how nice they were. Now I don't have to make them at home, but I kind of can't figure out why I wouldn't. With pink chocolate! And rainbow sprinkles!
Speaking of Yang, he says when I wrap gyoza I put in a lot of folds like a typical island savage. He's a gigantic commie toaster.
