Friday: tilapia carpaccio, marinated in lemon juice, dressed with olive oil and wasabi, seasoned with a little salt and a little soy because I couldn't make up my mind. It was nice.
Saturday: katsuo garlic rice, made with tuna because katsuo doesn't exist in April. It was okay.
Later thursday: more garlic rice, shrimp, and kimchi layered and covered with cheese sauce. It might even be doria. Mom contributed by making the cheese sauce and the garlic rice.
Sunday: for Easter, pork belly strips that were basically thick bacon pan-fried in ginger and soy sauce. Mom helped by cooking a lot of the fat off the pork, dad contributed a cabbage and mushroom stirfry at my direction.
Monday: salmon and mushrooms (button mushrooms, shiitake, and shimeji) with a dab of butter steamed in foil packets. IT WAS VERY GOOD.
Just now: A MONT BLANC CAKE, made with a store-bought kasutera brick, chestnut paste from WholePaycheck Foods, homemade custard and whipped cream. It's good, in fact just the way I think I should taste. Strangely, I am starting to worry chestnuts are something for which I lusted simply because they are so foreign and they're not chocolate or fruit.
Tomorrow: curry with slices of pork loin and probably boring vegetables (contemplating a "mom curry" recipe from a good book I have)
Wednesday: probably oyakodon unless I get crazy and take the salmon out of the freezer. Oh, I'll need spinach for this.
Thursday: pan-fried salmon with a little curry flavoring, topped with sour cream/pepper and served with pan-fried potatoes
???: porgy/bream simmered in a light soy sauce, probably with more potatoes (I have to buy the fish first)
Somebody marry me already! My parents are the only one who feel the benefits of my yummy home cooking (and sometimes Yang)! I have confidence that I could hook even Dean Winchester on tofu with mapo tofu!
Also, after buying a buttload of groceries on Thursday nobody in my house has been shopping for food since. And yet night after night of yummy food! I am awesome.
