Ah, no, that's Star Ocean 2. :P

Star Ocean 3's item creation is stupid and annoying; you get a random base price and you have to guess what that item is. All you need to do is press the selection to get another base price. Then you decided if you want to create it. The success of creating the item is higher from the start and depletes the longer you're in creation mode. The mode stops when you tell it to. You don't need to reset your game unless you hate wasting money.

I played all 4 Star Ocean games. :P I own all of them except for Star Ocean 1. *pets and drools over Star Ocean Blue Sphere*
