The PSP has *notoriously* low battery life. Thing is.. it depends on the game. An intensive game will drain you out in less than 2 hours.. a really light game can get you closer to 4-6. Have you considered a DS at all? The battery life is a whole lot better, it used to last me at least the flight home (8ish hours.) with some battery to spare.
..as for the passport, don't worry. Quite frankly, simply, because you're a girl, you won't have a problem. If you're cute, they let you go for the most part. I've been through some of the most suspicious passport situations completely unscathed. "If you don't like this passport, how about I give you my *other* passport?"
Have you done any research on the airline you'll be taking? Some have nifty features like laptop power (perhaps you could figure out how to charge your gamething..), or video games at your seat or that dvd library thing.. anyhow, it's nothing extremely interesting, but it helps pass the time. ..the most important thing I've learned is to invest in a good pillow, and good headphones. (Planes are noisy.)
