K-Books is said to have 200,000 books in their women's doujinshi section. Excuse me, women's doujinshi FLOOR. This should be encouraging for anybody who is out to buy doujinshi when I visit Tokyo in about a month. EEE it's only a month away ALSO EEE they have a floor for manga and light novels with 100,000 books

Following up on my mention of my sticker collection, and also because I got curious, I brought all the stickers I could get my hands on to Wendell and counted them on Friday night. I only counted stickers that hadn't been stuck to anything and were still on the original sheet. I have some stickers that I stuck to things, but I didn't count them because they're a rather small percentage of all the stickers I have around. I also have some temporary tattoos, nail art, and an iron-on applique, but these were not counted.

The last count, updated about 5 minutes ago because I found more in my room, is

2343

How: Nakayoshi and Ribon give out lots of stickers, and I've been buying those with varying regularity since 2001 (which was the earliest date I found on the stickers. There are probably older ones in there but Nakayoshi and Ribon didn't always put dates on their furoku things). Occasionally I also acquire a sheet directly, and I even found a couple sheets that were gifts from friends. Then all I have to do is organize them meticulously by size and hoard them like a mofo for years and years. 8D I'M SO PROUD OF MYSELF I COULD DIE. Next time I'll count books. <---harder

Yang lent me Lilo and Stitch again, so I watched it with my parents over the weekend. ...I'm sorry, but Yang and me have very different tastes in movies/TV. Which is to say, FUCK YOU MAN!!!!!!!!!!! >:EEEE ...I don't mean that really, but I did NOT like it. It kept showing great potential to be good, and then...it was really stupid. Okay? I'm being polite, here. My parents didn't seem to mind so much, but God. Yang, between this and the Gilmore Girls, I have seriously lost confidence in about half the stuff you rave about.

That's a lot of stickers. XD

Yeah, Lilo and Stitch was...eh. My favorite Disney movie by far is still Aladdin.

An entire FLOOR of women's doujinshi? I am liking the sound of this. *____*

I KNOW. We're going to go in there and it's going to be all sparkles and shoujo bubbles. And we won't walk, we'll float!!!!!!!!!!!

I think mine was The Little Mermaid. Not that I've seen it in its entirety in the last...10 years?

I realized what's important about my sticker collection is that so much of it was collected indirectly. I think if I was just spending that money on stickers all the time the number would be higher.

Aladdin is my favorite, too. I don't lump Lilo/Stitch in with the glory days of Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty/Beast, and Lion King.

Ever since then, I think the most well-rounded movie was Emperor's New Groove, although it was way too snarky to feel like a Disney. I kept checking to see if it was Dreamworks.

Tarzan had gorgeous visuals, but the story was unremarkable. "jungle surfing"!

Lilo & Stitch was too preachy in the latter half, but overall it was a concentrated bolus of cute and fuzzy with just enough subversive humor, right in the carotid. It was easy to like b/c it came at a time when we'd long since stopped asking too much from Disney. It was sugar water.

.... But I am not going to flamewank about the Gilmore Girls. I think my affection stems from years of parental estrangement. Early GG excelled in writing both long-term estrangement clashes and wish-fulfillment wholesomeness. That's that.
