Mm. Yeah. Thought it was time for an update.
Basically emotionally I'm fine, though I'm not as consistently joyful as I was a few weeks ago. My problem is I'm having real trouble not being nocturnal. I feel sleepy until maybe 8 PM, and then I'm a brand new person!!!! =_______________= And then I miss time with my parents, who are DUH not lying around the house all the time anymore. This is just the interim, I'll be taking classes (not only taking them, but taking them in the plural. TWO. YES.) and seeing more people soon, but, like...last weekend I was struck with a virus or something. I slept all day, and when I wasn't sleeping I was eating or crying (NOT AT THE SAME TIME :P) because I felt so crappy.
Can anybody believe that I am still playing Radiant Mythology on my PSP? It's the only game I've ever played on there, which is a little silly, because I have like 10 of them now. I put it down for a while, but then I picked it up last month. It came to me recently that I am gunning for pretty store-bought armor and the change to arrange it into cute little outfits, which is simply unacceptable. It's going to take me, like, another 100 hours of playing for me to get what I want, and I'm not even that interested in the game anymore. (It's worth noting that if Namco hadn't taken down all the user-uploaded characters on their site, I could just go look around there and see everything I need to. >8|)
The other option is for me to get some homebrew on my PSP and use a cheat to get whatever I want, but I need a new memory stick to do that and I just spent all my money on doujinshi... >_> in fact, I still owe money...and I STILL need a new faceplate for my PSP stat. ._. So, like, not gonna happen, baby.
And so now I shall take this opportunity to switch to another game. EVERYBODY COME ALONG AND WATCH ME HEM AND HAW. READ MY OPINIONS OF LIKE 20 GAMES.
RPG, OR MORE RPG THAN GAY LOVE SIM (I'M LOOKING AT YOU, SUIKODEN)
Star Ocean 2 PSX (IN JAPANESE.)
This looks like fun, except Rena could be a stupidface, and the PSX graphics could be something of a shock, and this doesn't have a New Game + feature, does it? What am I supposed to do if I can't carry any of my items over?!
Persona 3 Fes
I really own this because other people say it's grand. I are sheep. ._. I didn't think to look up how many playable females there are in this game...how many are there? I dunno, the school part looks like big fun, but I'm afraid of the fights.
Saga Frontier 2
I bought this game when I first bought my PS2 and I still haven't played it. I'm never going to play it, am I? Unless there are girls. Also, I think it has a main character who might possibly be hot? Uhh.
Arc the Lad
...=_= I got it for a dollar...I had a crush on Arc a few years back when the anime came out but now I might not care...but I got it for a dollar...
Wild Arms 3
I played this years ago when I was having the depression of a lifetime and didn't realize it. I haven't touched it since, and in fact I'm afraid that if I play it now it'll make me feel bad again. I quit before because I put the Green Thumb on Seles Do. The former belongs with Virginia, but the latter should clearly go to Gallows!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I cannot in any way shape or form play until this is corrected. So I would be starting over again if I played now.
Wild Arms 4
I would just be fighting the last boss if I played this now. I tried to fight some of the optional bosses and got my ass kicked, and gave up. Why would I give up levels for bonuses?! Jesus Christ.
Wild Arms 5
THIS GAME CONTAINS SUFFICIENT VAGINA AND AN INTERESTING MAGIC SYSTEM. The guys get high scores, too. Now if I could just find where I put my copy...
Ar Tonelico
If the battles are as slow-paced as they were in the first Atelier Iris, then I might have to sell this. (I wanted to smash every piece of electronic equipment in the room when those Lilims announced that it was time for "bye-bye!") Also, what convinced me that I wanted to play a game where you hook up to the girls and delve into their minds? Was it the music? Oh my god.
La Pucelle Tactics
I have to play this sometime. I have to start on Disgaea sometime. It's just that I...have other things to play right now.
Valkyrie Profile 2
I have one person who said this is good, another person who said they didn't like it, and another person who says this game is gorgeous. I am deeply appreciative of the fact that there is a female main character, but that's not really everything.
Valkyrie Profile (PSP remake)
Again, female main character, but not enough other strong female characters for me to be perfectly happy. Also, this game looks kind of difficult, or like there's a lot of grinding. Is there?
Eiyuu Densetsu Gagarv Trilogy Shiroki Majo
...I actually...haven't heard much good about this game. But it's an RPG, and it's for the PSP. Might as well fill out my collection...right?
Eiyuu Densetsu Sora no Kiseki FC
Same as above. I did have a wallpaper for this that makes the characters look very cute. I bought the Japanese versions of this series because I heard the US translation wasn't so good.
Gensou Suikoden I & II for the PSP
These games are pretty much as gay as they can get, aren't they? AND I OWN THEM. But then there are so few women. This is really a dilemma for me. IF THIS GAME IS HARD I'M NOT PLAYING IT.
SHAMEFUL LOVE SIMS OF ANY KIND
Fantastic Fortune PSX (HAHA I OWN THIS. SUCK MY E-PEEN. >:E)
It's a love sim aimed at girls. I am interested in this because the player gets to choose between three different girls to play as. Well, two are girls, and one is androgynous until a certain age which means the possibility of gay sex! YAY!
Fantastic Fortune 2
Another love sim aimed at girls, with three different female leads who are slightly less interesting this time. The guys are more interesting, though. There's a naughty blonde guy with his hair in a ponytail! Tell me how this wouldn't be fun.
Kaitou Apricot
Another foolish love sim for girls. It has a guy who reminds me of Rufus. Or maybe the male Swordsman in Ragnarok Online? Anyway, I like him.
Hiiro no Kakera
Another love sim aimed at girls. One of the male targets reminds me of Ed in no small way, so I think I know who I'd be attacking if I played this. Oh, shit, I just looked at the last page of the manual and this game is made by Idea Factory? Shiiiiiiit. I don't really hear many people praising the quality of their games. Shit.
Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 2 (PSP remake)
Neoromance. I have a very detailed guide book for this, but I hesitate because I might really suck at the minigames. I cheated when I played them on the GBA version. Also, I'm not feeling a notable attraction to any of the guys.
Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3
Neoromance. I'm not going to play this until I finish my business with Harutoki 2. It's too bad, because I AM attracted to some of these guys.
Angelique Trois
I bought this at the same time I bought Angelique Etoile. And then I played Etoile first. ...at least I know now that Victor is very relevant to my interests.
Sakura Taisen 1 & 2
I heard this could be enjoyed without masturbating to the girls. Is this true? I'd really like to play a colorful game where lots of girls fight. And if the love sim does become prominent, I can always nail the ballerina. Or the geek. >:D
Twelve ~Sengoku Fuushinden~
This is the first game for the PSP that I wanted. (RadiMy was the last nail in the coffin.) It's colorful and pretty, I can choose a female lead, there are at least three pretty female characters, there is a hot guy that I can build up affection for, and it's an easy game. OKAY.
Riviera ~Yakusoku no Chi Riviera~
This is more RPG than love sim, right? Isn't it? ...the character designs are cute, there's lots of girls and colorful things, and the systems look interesting, but I get the feeling this game will be difficult.
MISC. GAMES
Tales of Fandom vol. 2 (Luke version, in case anyone's asking)
This game carries the distinct possibility that it will deteriorate into a forced march for me the way the first FMA game did. Basically, I was constantly dying either because Ed is awesome, or because Ed was getting thrashed. I refused (and still do) to play it a third time, but I wanted every single bonus video and picture, so I got really twitchy about not missing any of them on my second playthrough. I got them all, thank god, but I noticed early on that I had to force myself to play. =_= Are the minigames in Fandom difficult or unpleasant or stupid? Because if so, I'm going to save this game for when I haven't been getting a hit of Kratos every day from my PSP. >_>
Fullmetal Alchemist 2
Is this easier? Please let it be easier. Or just don't make me play this. ._.
Genji: Dawn of the Samurai
Let me be perfectly honest: I bought this game because Yoshitsune is hot, but I sucked at playing. It was turning into another forced march. I quit maybe 10 hours in. Well, it's very pretty, too. That's good.
Doko Demo Issho (PSP remake)
I read a nasty review for this. Apparently they took out a lot of the cute atmospheric things to make room for the multiplayer abilities, which I will not use. It does look terribly interesting, but also like something that could maybe wait?
dissonantly posted a link to information about Star Ocean remakes. I started recording my reactions in a comment and then thought maybe they would be better off in my own journal.
Ratix looks like an idiot but they got Milly puffing up her tail looking cute...I wonder if she'll still say, "kawa-E" to Ronixis in the remake? That personality of hers is so early 90s. I bet they'll make her into a tsundere. And while they're updating Milly, they should make Ratix and Dorn more gay for each other. WHY NOT? IT'S ALL THE RAGE.
I kind of want this SO1 remake, but I had the most fun with that game when I cheated and gave everybody 9999 skill points and better talents and got like every item in Ionis. Is there any way to do that on the PSP? =___________________= And I really had trouble with the affection system in that game. I 1. couldn't protect my party members because the fighting system was so crummy and 2. couldn't tell if that little sound effect meant affection went up or down.
Would it make more sense for me to play Star Ocean 2 PSX now, because I just bought it, or should I wait for the remake and feel resentful when play the same game twice? Will Star Ocean 3 make me cry? Should I play something else? Basically my top priorities right now are Star Ocean 2, Twelve, Wild Arms 5, and Harutoki 2, in no particular order.
EDIT: I watched some very flashy attack sequences for Wild Arms 5 on Youtube, so I think I'll go for that. I watched a cutscene, too---it's so over the top dorky. AWESOME. And while I'm playing that, I'll have Harutoki 2 on my PSP...nyuk nyuk nyuk.
EDIT: Oh...I didn't see these directions for getting better items in Atelier Iris 2 before ._.

Is Tales of Destiny PS2 that angsty? I remember the original as being quite stupid actually. XD (I mean, Stahn.. ^^;)
P3's holding my interest, but I've been taking breaks from it. A while ago I caught myself obsessing over it to the point where I couldn't concentrate on other things, so I stopped playing for a while. As for length, I'm playing it much more slowly than most people - I've seen people reach the same point at 35 hours. Because you can socialize, dungeon crawl, and do sidequests when and if you want (aside from story sequences, which aren't that common) the pace is really up to you. I'm the type of RPG player that hates missing stuff though, so I play very meticulously and try to take advantage of every 'day'. XD
(Digression: the Commus/S-Links you want to develop are also up to you, unless you want to be completely OCD and try to maximise all commus in one playthrough. It's both linear and open-ended in some respects. I can't think of another game where the silent hero archetype is so well executed - he really is the player and you really have an effect on his 'personality', fighting style and relationships.)
I think the one you don't select still appears in the story..? The summary is 子供を1人紫藤家に預ける事になるが、いつかは清四郎が帰ってきて親子4人で暮らせると信じている。 Probably the rationale is that it would be hard for a single mom to deal with two babies... but still! :( It's probably just because of gameplay reasons. :/ Bah!
The Amazon reviews for this game are really good (and the art is really cute). I think you might enjoy it since there are 4 voices for each of the boys, depending on their age/personality. I kind of want to play it but I think it would make me feel like a だめ人間 ;_; Maybe when I go to Japan (this is going to be a legendary trip when I actually do it) if I can get it for cheap in a bin somewhere. XD
no subject
Ah, I'm meticulous. I'll probably take a long time, too, though I can't see myself maxing out all the commu on one playthrough.
I didn't know P3 had a silent hero. This is already interesting to me because of Crono and Serge, and now you say you can affect him depending on how you play? =w= This is attractive. (Haha, a male version of myself. Kimee.)
I saw a couple pictures in there that suggested the other son does appear in the story, yes. But that sounds a hell of a lot like you only get one son, so. Maybe...you pick one son to have for the early years, and then the other becomes the new kid, and you raise them both while also introducing them to each other...? Aw, hell no, that's too complicated, and the endings would be too complicated, too. I wonder how the ame/muchi system works. Is the correct answer random, or does it depend on the situation or the son? I'd probably give Fuuto candy all the time, and he'd turn into the Spoiled Fuuto...
Why...why だめ人間? Because the only purpose women have in life is getting married and having babies, and those who do not by the age of 25 are Christmas cakes? Or because the mom in this game is Supermommy and nobody could ever ever be her? Or because you are thinking だめ人間 thoughts about the fine young men depicted in this game >:D (I find this terribly unlikely, but just in case)?

Haha, you were trying to cut down your list but I came in and mentioned a new game, sorry. XD;
In P3, your character will likely have different stats and weapons and relationships depending on your playing style, to summarize. You don't really 'change' him, but your game will be different from everyone else who's playing the game.

I'm sorry, I tried to say it in Japanese and I couldn't. I don't think anybody'll bother you about what I say here. (And if they do, I'll eat them.)
...that said, I do know what it's like to want to have my very own bunky and possibly some children by him. (Sort of. I am ambiguous about this, and I think many women my age are.) I think this game is perfect, because you get to experience all the pretty and fun parts of childrearing without risking your entire life.
...that's...kinda cool. Ooh, what will my character be like...?
