Yes, I know I left off without saying anything, but I had a hectic couple of days. 'x'
I had that project on Tuesday, right? I turned it in more or less all right, which really means not all right at all because I did "an all-nighter and an all-dayer" and then came home and collapsed. While writing my paper I gathered feelings of rage at being made to miss sleep to write a report about people going through doors, and possibly having to do so regularly for several years forward. Then to top it off, Mom said, "You're a real college student now!" when I finished.
Yeah, sure, Mom. My final goal all along has been to live in a noisy smelly place with a bunch of people who play music and fuck too loud, work my ass off for something I don't really care about, and self-medicate with substance abuse and MMORPGs until I drop out or drop dead.

Yesterday I couldn't be bothered because I just wanted to play Star Ocean 2 (more on this later) until I couldn't stand it anymore, and today for some reason the clock chimed 5 PM and I passed out for several hours. I seriously could not stay awake. Maybe I was coming down from a sugar/caffeine high.
What were once novel ideas have spread to every other game and are now cliched and shallow. It's still fun when it gets all Star Trek, but, like, Rena and Claude? Maybe the anime poisoned me. I still don't like them. Basically Rena's entire personality comes out in her relationship with Claude, who is by my account no prize. Maybe I would rather see Rena rocking hardcore than turning vivid red and stammering every time someone asks her how she feels about Claude? Maybe I would like to see some chemistry or interesting conversation between these two rather than all these Signs That They Are Meant For Each Other? The two most enraging moments are as follows:
1. I don't care how much fapping you'll get out of the thought of me watching you wave your sword around in front of everyone in Lacour. I'll fucking well chase after Dias if I want to, and the hell with you. RAR. (Circa Arms Tournament)
2. Dias is about to join the party, and all he and Rena can talk about is Claude, and how Claude has CHANGED Rena, and CHANGED Dias, and everyone is happy now! Fuck that shit. I want to talk to Dias and talk about Dias and flirt with Dias. I DON'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT CLAUDE. >:E
Basically the developers tried to make a romantic, moving game, and came up with something very flimsy, but item creation is still awesome. And cheap, as in my God I'm not sure I want to keep playing because it's too easy and the game is broken now. I have three Seltzers, two of which are profitable now! Each character I use to fight (6 of them so far) has the best possible weapon they can customize! Rena, Ashton, AND Dias make me all the Bacon and Eggs and Shark Fin Potstickers and what-have-you I ever wanted! I made 150,000 fol one hour after publishing my books! I have Orchestra, Blacksmith, Alchemy, Metalwork, Art, Identify All, like 5 Cinderella Glasses!
Okay, that's all. Christ.
Watching the Japanese news has again yielded an interesting discovery:

Lol yeah, it's so easy to abuse the game and have all the money and equipment you'll ever need. I had Rena with one of the strongest knuckles in the game at level 10 and she pwned everything with here bare fists, including enemies you shouldn't be fighting until level 25. Ohohoho, exp galore. But playing through the game in a more "honest" way is usually best during the first time because being overpowered gets boring fast unless you've been playing through multiple times. *cough*

I, too, got a Sorceress Knuckle or something like that at level 15 or so... (’Д‘) Ashton and Claude would be uselessly hacking at something, and Rena would come up and blow it away. What amazes me is that I got all that good stuff without modifying a save state so everyone had 9999 SP (my preferred cheat for S01). Most of my cheating has consisted of making save states before I pickpocket anybody. (And so I have a 99% pickpocketing success rate >_>) ...I don't really mind that I was able to, say, cook so much so early. The only thing better than making food items is being able to use them :DDDDD I admit that being overpowered is a tad boring, but I prefer that to incandescent rage at a game that's too difficult.
Unfortunately, I was exposed to the entirety of SO:EX years before I got ahold of the game. I must say the game is still a thousand times better. I seriously wanted to break Rena's face (and sometimes Claude's, too) when I watched the anime, but now that I play the game it's just like...oh well. Silly girl.

But if you played the game, you could get Leon in your party, and have the chance to try the item creation system to make up for all the bullshit. (You could also let Noel join your party, and he is kind of sort of a catboy but overall an awful character to use. :/)
