Okay, time for a mild and unimportant confession.
I'm playing Tales of Rebirth again. That's not the confession. The confession is that I have a crush on Tytree.

??? durrrr
You know, the one I don't like. I still kinda wanna uppercut him. Seriously, if you like her bodacious body just the way it is, then you have to tell her that. Don't be all like, "aw, Hilda, you didn't try hard enough to find a place for yourself! You should really throw yourself at people who hate you more!" So now it's not so much that I wish Tytree would take off his shirt when he preaches, I just wish he would keep his big fat mouth shut in certain (many) situations. I think it's entirely possible that this game just botched up his character and only showed him saying things that I hate.
Tales of Rebirth is, on the whole, much more tolerable than I remember it being. Years later, it's actually extremely distracting. I guess I needed to play TOD2 to gain the proper appreciation.
EDIT: There may soon come Tales of Rebirth spoilers in the comments. Also, what was Tytree like when he was little? Was there anything to make Selena think he's adorable?

Tsundere can be okay. Mostly it hits me way way the wrong way, though I think I don't really fully grasp this concept. I guess that Iori in idolm@ster is tsundere. Or maybe Chisato? Is Tear Grantz tsundere? Is Kagami Hiiragi tsundere?
Is Ed tsunderelol I read an article about it on Wikipedia (!) but it's too vague. On taking on guerillas, only now does it occur to me that that's also a really quick and easy way to have a variety of bad things that are not dying happen. I still don't like the use of violence to make another person do what you want. It's like, next time he's gonna push her down a flight of stairs and say he can't help himself because she made him mad.
I sound feminist, or paranoid, or paranoid feminist. ._.

That said, it was one scene in one episode. If I watch the next episode and they establish a pattern, then yes, it's violent. As it is now, though, I think it's also fair to say that it's a positive wish-fulfillment fantasy for girls. An ordinary nerdish girl fights to save books and takes on macho guys on their own turf, while simultaneously having several 'princes' to fangirl over and a reliable female best friend for backup and makeup advice. If you look at the series that way, I don't think it's as problematic from a feminist perspective, especially considering how manga in general is pretty chauvinist.
(I'm still mildly annoyed at the author of Reborn for having so few interesting girls in her story. You're female yourself! Sheesh!)
No, I haven't read the Hagaren novel (I also haven't read most of the manga either 8D). ^^ But Ed vs. Roy is funny! That duel they fought was awesome too.
Personally I think tsundere is derived from the Love Hina school of two-step comedy (1. Ooops I accidentally fell into the women's baths 2. HERE'S TEAM ROCKET BLASTING OFF AGAAAAAAAAIN!) which is only funny if you like broad physical comedy with your fanservice. The reason tsundere is popular is probably because they're hard to get and the point where they are dere is intensified by the way they scowl the rest of the time.
Anyway Tear, Kagami and Ed are all tsundere. I don't know anything about Idolmaster besides tokachitsukuchite XDDD

As for the library warrior princess, no, I think it's probably fairly feminist, BUT it comes out of Japan. I can already find plenty of things wrong with American movies, and we're supposed to be closer to gender equality...so what I really need to do is be mad at silly Japan. (Also, I hope the reliable friend gets a nice guy, possibly a member of the harem, and for keeps.)
Oh, another thought...if this anime takes off in any way, do you think they'll make a video game out of it?! >:D They made a (mild) dating game with Sugar Sugar Rune, of all things. If they do, that'll feel a little better. But then I'll play the storyline with the Roy guy, and the main character will act stupid and get smacked, and I WOULD NOT DO THAT. :( STUPID GAMES.
Iori in idolm@ster is played by Kugimiya Rie, who seems to get this role pretty often? She's the resident bratty, proud girl whose image color is pink and whose image song is just...totally gooey. ._. I think I get that, though. It's the same reason there are so many grumpy dark-haired men in shoujo manga.
Continuing from shoujo manga, though, pretty much every anime with romance begins at least one participant hating the other, and then he or she falls madly in love with the other person and there's lots of lovey-dovery stuff. Wouldn't that technically make a majority of those girls tsundere? Why aren't there stricter requirements for being tsundere?! THERE MUST BE STRICTER REQUIREMENTS. I SAY THIS. IT MUST BE SO. (Note: I just happened to think of this, but Mochida Aki is this manga author for Ribon, I've mentioned her before? Her new series seems to skip most of the fighting and insults I find so tiresome and gets straight to a comfortable relationship. And she's done it before, this I know. tl;dr THE WHOLE FIRST CHAPTER IS ON THE OFFICIAL SITE (http://www.s-manga.net/comics/om_ri_rmc_kimiha-sakamichino-tochude.html) DUDE FREE STUFF)
The Roy and Ed thing...Ed decides he's going to interrupt Roy's flirting with some chicks on a train by running up to Roy and yelling, "DADDY! :DDDD" Hear that? THAT is the sound of a million fangirls screeching with laughteer. BAD ED, YOU ARE SO FUNNY. POOR ROY, YOU ARE SO HETARE.

I imagine it's pretty likely...? There are a lot of random anime games. Actually, I have no idea.
Well, it's entirely possible there is a strict hierarchy of tsundere. In the Haruhi game for PS2 there is a wonderfully elaborate Super Robot Wars parody (yes, I am going somewhere with this) and one of the otaku in the comments on Nicovideo started analyzing the type of explosion and how you could tell this was from Nadesico as opposed to Evangelion. Or maybe it was vice versa. Anyway I have full confidence that someone somewhere has an obsessive list of the requirements for a tsundere, even if I don't know it.
*reads chapter* Thanks for the link! More sites should do that (websunday.net has the first chapter of nearly all currently running manga up, yay)
Wow, the main character has some elaborate hairIt looks interesting! I kinda like Mekakushi no Kuni for the same reasons (less petty jealousy and random fiancees from nowhere, more honobono)Wowwwww. Poor Roy. Ed's going to get massacred XD

I'm glad you like it :333 There's a lot of honobono in Mochida's stuff, but she does do the random fiancees and stupid bickering thing, too. What I like is that it's fairly easy to tell which story does what what. Braided country girl with puppies, whose favorite food is custard, who looks great in hippie outfits? I think that would be called trying to make your story as easygoing and fluffy as possible. (Would I be silly if I said I like the hair Mochida Aki draws? See also: お砂糖漬けのミス・ハニー)
I bet there is a list for tsundere. I bet there's more than one, but the people with the lists are so disorganized that we'll never see them...like I need to see that anyway. Oh, wait, maybe I do...no, I don't. It'd be like asking what moe is. (Except I've heard a specific answer to that. On fandom wank.)

Incidentally every single episode of Toshoukan Sensou so far has the main character breaking down in tears so I quit watching. The anime version of Allison is also methodically stripping out almost every enjoyable scene from the books (though the dogfight in the last episode was GREAT) so I think I'm officially disillusioned with this season. Bah.

Bummer man :( Such potential, too. I will avoid any sweeping statements about how anime sucks Nowadays because that would imply that Ranma 1/2 was actually really good.
Also, hello cute little fella from Summon Night. I am considering buying a DS to play the remake T_T
Okay, this is a really changing the subject, but I was only recently made aware of the fact that Subaru and Kamui are like gay post-apocalyptic vampires in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, and...screw you, CLAMP? Is that what I mean to say? Seriously.

The fact that SNDS has no VA is a major minus though, especially since these games are ALL ABOUT TALKING. So the PS version might be better (unless you have it already?) But awwwww. I picked up my Aya replay yesterday. This game is wonderful! Except for, you know, the GAME parts of it XDDD
They're not only gay post-apocalyptic vampires, they're gay post-apocalyptic vampire TWINS. That is about the point where I became disillusioned with Tsubasa (for other reasons). Now I can't keep track of what is going on anymore.

Oh my god, no VA? Thank you for telling me this, I basically wouldn't have played SN3 without the voices (Gourry FTW) ^^; I'll try to find a copy of the PS version.
LOL. Are you kidding me? LOL CLAMP, screw you. I WAS RIGHT TO AVOID THIS SERIES.
