Pointer/beagle is gonna make for one heck of a scenthound, heh. Although if she was coonhound/beagle...oh dear lord, the BAYING. There was a beautiful blue tick coonhound in camp once, but her constant baying drove me nuts. We were lucky with Ginger--she was a coonhound/retriever mix, but she inherited the lab bark.
There were lots of people when I went to pick up Tika, too. We all ooohed and aaahed and aaawwwed over the dogs as they came out of the van. Although there was one incident with a basset mix that decided to take off across the field towards the road. >_> Fortunately he was caught just before he reached it.
Also, yes, tail chasing is funny. One of the golden retrievers did it in camp the other day.
