I think it's a bit early to judge the characters yet, and I've seen "herbivore" applied to characters I quite like (such as Lloyd from Zero no Kiseki) so I wouldn't worry about it. That blog likes to stir up trouble to get hits so it will always frame everything in the worst way. As a result the regular commenters aren't very nice either.
Hmm, tennen could be good! I'm just hoping he's not an idiot like Terra from KH BBS. >_> But that seems cute! It looks to me that the game still has far to go though, since they didn't have a battle menu or anything showing.
