im@s will be an anime, right on schedule, also blah blah
ほーうれみろ
Yup, it happened, idolm@ster will be an anime now. Nothing about Jupiter yet, but they'd have to be out of their minds to bring that up now. I guess this means my thing is going to get more exposure in the west? Who knows, maybe the anime'll even get licensed someday. If it did (and it had boys), I wouldn't be surprised to see tons of female fans in the US.
新しい一年の報告よりアイマスの報告、うんうん。 I guess it's okay if I just update my journal when I have news?
Resolutions and things
-Cut down on Hachima (she said, linking them in that very entry). No reading the comments, ever. I don't think I can keep a resolution where I only read idolm@ster/Tales news but maybe I can try to avoid articles that are just trolling for arguments about consoles.
-Lose ten pounds. That's it. I hope it will happen by the middle of March.
-Plan a trip to Japan, pick advanced destinations, like farmhouses and Nagano, and don't back down when making them unless they just cost too much. Stop freaking out about Japanese people. They've seen uglier, fatter, weirder, hairier American anime fans than you.
-Get over anxiety when shopping online.
One of my special places is Chrono Trigger. Anything that can evoke memories of Chrono Trigger, particularly of when I played a little at a friend's house and was transfixed by 2300 AD, becomes a small part of that special place. Tales of Graces made me remember Chrono Trigger, because the heroes are forced (under pursuit, even) to travel to another world, not knowing what they will find or what will happen next, and land in the barren, wrecked landscape left behind after a technologically advanced civilization suffered an apocalypse.
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ♥♥♥♥♥
I was practically convulsing while I played through events in Phodra. I don't care if Graces deserves this crown or not. I don't care. I DON'T CARE. BECAUSE THE FOOD IN STORAGE IS ROTTING. AND THE ROBOTS ARE THE ONLY THINGS STILL RUNNING. AND IN A RUINED LABORATORY, A FLICKERING HOLOGRAM SHOWS THE LAST BOSS.

I have events after the last boss in Tales of Graces on the TV right now. (It's paused on Asbel's arm.) I liked every character except Cheria. I wanted to like Cheria. There was too much of a gap between her titles, and the way she actually acted. I would have much, much preferred that they let Sophie be the princess and the lady and the angel, and Pascal be mommy. Cheria was too rough to be a princess, too shrewd to be a lady, too mercurial to be an angel, and frankly waaaaay too immature to be mommy. Instead of tacking on all sorts of things that don't really make sense, I wish she'd been allowed to be the normal, not-too-strong girl who proves herself by loving someone she chooses more than anyone else. (It's a little too old-fashioned for me to call that ideal, but it would have worked. I would have understood.)
I felt the moe for all the guys. I thought I was going to like Richard the best but the beginning of the game gave him so much wrongness, and then Malik had to be a liar with perfume accessories, and Hubert had to get his weapon from a comic book and be a power rangers fan...!!!! Dammit, you two!! パスカルとマリクがくっつくのを待っていた私は、まあいつもの事で。ヒューバートは限りなく面白くなるからパスカルとヒューバートも十分可能。シェリアよりもヒューバートが恋する乙女要素。
I loved that everyone had a particular favorite food this time. In Vesperia it was just general tastes and while it was precious to know that Flynn liked meat and didn't like squid...it got hard to feed them :| This way is still fine, because I know that teacher likes tai chazuke ♥
There's a harem anime running right now that takes place in a future where women are the dominant gender because they can pilot robots. I bet you two shekels and a goat that even though it's the future, there's still division of labor, women are still crushed between career and family, and at some point the hero will make a speech to a bunch of bitches about how we shouldn't be mean to him. Isn't there a market for an anime where the wife gives mediocre child care, lives like a slob, and leaves her husband-slave alone at home for her badass job piloting giant robots? Oh, hmm, wait.
I received the last shipment of Christmas presents that was more than one or two things. This included a set of tea cups/saucers/spoons, some cooking utensils, and House mabo curry---NOT the kind with Graces characters on the cover. But it does suggest that I buy some of that on the back of each box. The cooking utensils included pretty glass cups for the great puddi puddi. They immediately went to good use, for making tall puddings that wiggled in just the right way. I like to think that I finally got the baking temperature right, but more likely pudding just likes being heated in these cups. I need to put up a recipe for this.
The tea cups were some not-very-expensive ones (the entire set was about $35, $40) in a set of five. They were probably made for gift giving (marriage or baby showers). I picked out this set in particular because there's a different flower pattern on each one and I never seem to see that here. The Rakuten store that sold them to me specialized in gifts, and they included two kinds of free wrapping (a Japanese noshi and a normal wrapping to cover it all), and a free gift card with a free pre-written message. I got all that =w= SHH, IT'S MY EDUCATION. I guess I could always find examples of what to write on gift cards on the internet, but it's more fun to have one in my hand with a pattern I picked out.
Supernatural is going to start up again soon, and I'm not sure I'm excited. I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of ultra meta they will have this time. I love to see a funny episode. What I can't stand anymore is my imaginary boyfriend being a shadow of himself. Dean is no fun anymore, and I watched for fun fun Dean. I have admitted to myself that I am looking for an excuse to start toning down my viewership of SPN. I wonder where this is?
EDIT: When I read this I make a sound like this:

Hope you do not mind if I hijack your post for Tales news too. Two-person combos! Sure why not! But there had better be other people in the party too~ I am kind of hoping Jude and Mira get to pull off Bushin Soutenha, or at least something equally as sparkly together.

SWEET, go right aheeeead. I, uh, am thinking the same thing about more people in the party. The first half of that article made it sound like you only get two, then the second half made it sound like there would be more someday? I like the two-person combos! Reminds me of Chrono Trigger. Or at least Tales of Symphonia. Maybe there'll be a hiougi for every pair?
