I've been translating for almost a year (this is scary XD) and I think it's something you get better at over time ^^; After a while, you can just sort of figure out how to put it together in a way that uses most of the same words and keeps the same meaning, but isn't stupidly literal. Being over-literal is bad though :p And it amuses me to no end to see people preach about being overly literal is better than just getting the meaning of the thing across because it's "more like the original" If by that they mean that noone in japan can read the damn thing, then I agree. XD;; Otherwise, strive to get the idea across. Don't worry if it doesn't say the exact same thing, as long as it makes sense.

Another good idea is to get a bunch of random contacts who also translate to whom you can send troublesome bits of stuff you don't understand. Sometimes just asking someone about it will make it rearrange itself in your head in a better way, and even if it doesn't they'll usually have an idea to get you on the right track. Feel free to hit me up with weird stuff, I have nothing better to do XD

I'm thestripedone on mircx, and if you want to use AIM my SN is the42ndryoga. Translating is teh fun! Good luck XD
