*sits down with a sundae the size of a yacht* OKAY. I got my sundae, I got my pictures up, Hagaren 17 is at 29%, and I get to sit around and watch the Superbowl today (tight ends, heehee). I think I'll start working on that fortune-telling translations a little, too.
EDII: I finished the fate number 1 page of the fortune-telling. I think I'm going to have to translate a little of the explanation, too.
Oh, and...my Plannin...I made a little thing of her out of clay in art class years and years ago...I worked my ass off on it and looks really nice (stands on its own, too!). Well, it did, until the cleaning lady, the fucking cleaning lady, broke it while she was cleaning out house a year or two ago. Excuse me while I lapse into snottiness, but maybe only an ARTISTE can understand what it feels like to see something they spun out of their own heart get beaten up. It also didn't help that it was representative of my artistic tendencies and the last time I was kind of happy in high school. >_> I forgot about it, but we kept the pieces...mom glued it back together. Well, there's still a piece of the wing missing, and one of the hands is messed up, but...I was really happy...
...and then it made me think of Ed...
Robin: *holding out Plannin* FIIIXX ITTTT WAH
Ed: あっちいっけ。
Robin: 酷っっ！！！
Good episode, good episode. Not enough sex to make it the BEST episode, and the mix of funny and OH GOD I'M SO SAD wasn't quite as skillful as it could have been, it was still excellent. Mostly what sticks with me is what Winry says to Ed. She gets really upset...Ed says the only thing he can do is try to make progress because doesn't have a family to go back to, and Winry proclaims that she's crying for him because HE never cries for himself.
RIGHT in the kisser, baby. (If there's one thing that sums up the way I feel about the Elric angst, that's IT. Just excellent. Good girl. I'm drawing a picture of you and someone hot fooling around, yes I am. Winry: *eyes sparkle* DOES IT HAVE AUTOMAIL?!)
But does that mean Ed thinks of Winry as a sister? That just makes things more complicated...and annoying... For all my RoyEd ranting, I do like it when the main character has a girlfriend he gets along with and fools around with etc. This is the feeling of wishing Arakawa Hiromu wasn't one of those artists who couldn't draw a cute girl if one bit him on the ass. (I swear to god, Naruto is really missing something for lack of romance.)
Other funny things: Armstrong's sparkles FALLING OUT OF THE AIR and HITTING THE FLOOR with an AUDIBLE SOUND. Oh, MAN. Also, Ed in the shower, and dear god the Ed and Al THUPER TEAMWORK is unequaled. (Hagarenger must really kick ass if their leader can work with the giant robot like that...) Winry going bonkers over Ed's watch made me want to draw a funny where she starts humping his leg *gets wrenched*
And then there's Ed yowling when they hooked up his automail. Once again, it hurts a lot more than it did in the manga. =_= I swear to god I am like this close to making a list, keeping TRACK of how many episode Ed moans or screams in. Really. I think it's only been like 3 or 4 episodes so far that he HASN'T. (They are feeding us, girls...they're FATTENING us up for the KILLLL...)
EDIT: I found out that they started selling popsicles in 1923. So Ed is 18 in that picture. ...XDD Hagaren takes place around 1920 or so, right? (Or is it 1918? 1919?) It kind of tickles me how it's just like our world only with alchemy and automail (they even talk about "the war" a lot, too...WWI! OMG! XDDD). ...I don't even want think about penicillin, or what Winry's going to do when it's being used enough to prevent all the amputations...or how she manages WITHOUT IT. (Jebus!)
I keep getting this mental picture of Ed grinning like an idiot from an old yellowed photo...じぃーーーーんと来る！ XD
