Guess what I just killed downstairs? That's right, a "The Bug" (a house centipede). Another one of those big daddies. Right, so, I smished it with a box of those godawful wafer cookies that my parents like, and now I'm wondering. I know things can keep twitching after they die because of nerves and all, but what if the parts that are twitching aren't connected to the spinal cord (or whatever it is that sends out the instinctual TWITCH AHHH orders)? I mean, most of the bug stuck to the bottom of the box, but some of the legs stuck to the counter. And they kept moving. That's like cutting off someone's arm, and the arm just keeps flipping around. There are lizards that can do that with their tails, but this is a bug, man. What's going on? Is each little piece going to grow into a new centipede? Is there evil afoot? I'm inclined towards the latter, myself, because they're still so fucking nasty.

This is a real problem. I found a little teeny one in my room last night, and it got away from me. What if we have some kind of infestation? Also, I'm hoping nobody notices that there's dead bug splatter on the underside of that cookie box. (They might not. I'm safe for now.)
