When did you start to like FMA?I think I first watched a proper episoe around when episode 8 of the anime aired.
How many episodes have you seen so far?I watched up through 30 before I started to feel like I was being bamboozled, and checked in for a couple episodes after that. I think 33 all together.
Which episode is your favorite?Episode 13, no contest. Episode 39 was also fun.
Which episode is your least favorite?None in particular, but I think things got pretty silly after episode 30. Episode 3 is the one that made me fear Bratja. It makes me feel all sad and droopy.
Do you prefer the episodes subbed, dubbed, or both?Raw. It's a general principle, also better for creative endeavors.
Do you watch FMA on Adult Swim?I watched episodes 1-26 before it stopped for a bit, and I haven't watched since.
Do you own any of the FMA DVDs?No.
Video games?No, but I should.
Cards?No.

Any other FMA related items?Lots of porn (homebrewed and downloaded), some random clear files and pencil boards, porn, a couple articles in anime magazines, porn.
Who's your favorite character?Roy and Ed. Also, Shesca is the geek queen and Armstrong is my role model.
Who's your least favorite character?Nobody in particular.
Any favorite pairings?Above all else, RoyEd. EdWin, RoyEye, HughRoy, HavoRoy, Roy x random unsuspecting waitress/flower seller/somebody's girlfriend/Shesca/secretary/secret admirer/etc.
Any pairings you don't like?Zelos x Raine. Oh, uh, wrong meme.
Do you write FMA fanfics?Of course not. I don't write, and they're not fanfics.
Do you draw FMA fanart?Yes.
What's your favorite FMA song?Bratja taught me to recoil in terror when FMA music is brought up. (Short answer: Ready Steady Go)
Are you in any FMA related RPGs?No.
Do you have your own character?Heh heh heh.
What's your character's occupation?Heh heh heh heh.

What's with all these questions about RPGs? I understand RPGs are buttfuckin' tons of fun for the people who are in them, but I'm not in one and I never plan to be (I can't tell you why, it's a government secret). Some people just aren't in RPGs, so don't use 4 questions out of, like, 20 to talk about it. I want cosplay. Karaoke. Mary Sues. ARR!

Also, while I was doing a search for "Dessert Love" (a game which is itself shall we say not family-friendly)---what is this shit? Really not worksafe by the way, just maybe not as bad as the last time I was like ME LINK TO PORNO IN LJ BUH HUH. But it's pink. Be careful, okay. I feel bad when I'm all like HAHA YOUR PORN IS THTUPAHD...but...but...omigod, I must be sheltered or something. Have I ever told you I fucking hate oranges? They're gross and bitter and dirty.

So, hey Trudy (and anybody else down south) happy hurricane! ...:((( You may be embarrassed to know this, but my parents know about you, too, and for what it's worth, we're all pulling for you! (Because we can totally make it better by "pulling." Hur hur.)

If I was to, say, buy one of the Summon Night games, which one should I get first?

EDIT: That bird that only makes noise at about 1 AM in the summer and has kind of a high-pitched, shivery call is at it again. I really wish I could identify it. (We live nextdoor to wetlands?)

Summon Night 2, then 3.

I found SN EXE to be inferior, but it's still a decent action RPG.

SN1 is trash.

I'll need a PSX disk for the game, huh...hum, yes, okay, thank you :D

OMG, you have that bird too??!!1

Also, yeah. Hurricane. New Orleans is toast.

YOU HAVE THAT BIRD TOO?! Do you live near wetlands?! (Do pools count?) Could help to know that...it might be a frog, too, huh.

Er... I've only played SN1 and 2, really. SN1's enemy AI is so stupid you can lure them one at a time to smash them, so it makes it really easy to advance to the next story sequence (which was the whole point of the game to me.) SN2 expands hugely on both the game's mechanics (it fixes most of the problems in the first game's system and it adds some new complications to keep things interesting) and on the story world, while also keeping all sorts of references to the first game. It's kind of like Lunar 2 Eternal Blue in relation to Silver Star Story. And with all due respect to Dragonmaster, I really loved SN1 for its characters and atmosphere. They more than made up for the rudimentary gameplay, to me.

Then again, SN3 and Exthesis are both less connected to the other games in the series, so if you want a stand-alone game, one of those might be good. Haven't played either. :3 SN 1,2, and 3 were all rereleased in cheaper editions, which is nice.

[identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com 2005-08-29 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Cheaper editions! Yes! I've realized if I plan to buy Summon Night games, I'll need the thing that lets me play Japanese PSX games, so I'd like to save money. ^^* And that makes SN1 less of a risk, because I would like to play, I don't really neeeeeeeed a challenge...

[identity profile] maiki.livejournal.com 2005-08-29 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently SN3 gave the best impression to all SN newbies, so maybe that one first?

[identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com 2005-08-29 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Possibly. I'd also like to start with one of the older ones so I don't get spoiled with pretty graphics or some crap like that, but if it inspired OTHER people to play the old games... :DD Thank for for your input!

hah i may have seen more FMA episodes than you because i've eaten through them like a starved pacman but aside from that, within the episodes after 26 i yet have to discover an adequate plot. Of course i am only naively assuming it's actually there..

[identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com 2005-08-31 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh...are you saying that because you actually think so, or because I NEVER SHUT UP ABOUT IT? ^^*** I would probably not be the best person to ask whether there's a plot after 26. ^^* I know funny things happen to Havoc in episode 39, and then the last couple episodes are just...the last couple episodes (frowny frown)...frankly, I don't think there's really much else to be HAD.

BUNKERS!

[identity profile] boogietiere.livejournal.com 2005-09-01 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually my comment was the result of being overdosed with fillers. When the creators waste at least 13 episodes on Ed walking around without a goal, and among them a few on highlighting subplots that don't really matter, it becomes pretty conspicious that they are just procrastinating the conclusion of the main story =o= As for the final episodes, umm Ed, why does fighting the homunculus come FIRST all of a sudden? Is it because this way things turn out more conveniently for the writers? I could be missing something of course, yet i'm probably not too far off.

Okay i'm nagging too much but i've been getting a bit crrrranky from this senseless ongoing of events during the second half of the series, now i'd like some people to tell me i'm not the only one who's been hurt =_= (oh right, the good stuff.. in one episode Gluttony said 'ねえ、これで良いの?エンヴィイ怖いよ!" that made me grin)
