Cut for some spoilers. And well, it's a meme.

I started playing Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland! It's fun and adorable---rather than having the most successful farm, the point is to make friends with the villagers, who are all just as cute as the main character. The one I think about the most so far is Dia, who takes a little work to warm up, but when she does, she confides in you. The only real problem I've had so far is one of my chickens died and at first I didn't even know why. ;_; But I figured out that the chickens' feed boxes are labeled with their names, so you have to put the feed in the right box. I was just putting it in the closest one and leaving... =_= It scared me to have an animal die, though, even though it's not real. (The power of Harvest Moon...) There was this sad little grave for it, and my little main character guy took a day off to reflect...! I hope nothing like that happens again.

I'm currently working on the bluebird ending. I have my dog and my flute and everything, but I don't know how to see how many hearts the dog has for me. I guess I'll figure it out somehow.

oww what a sad thing to happen to your chicken D: It's creepy when animals die even when they're just polygon animals. I should know, I've had many of those dying from starvation back when I was playing Harvest moon 64. Mostly because at a certain point i had decided that my character was suffering from a maniacal depression and would prefer to spend the entirety of his days sleeping. Or at least until the next fancy festival came round (yeah selfish bastard wasnt he.. ahah).

I'd like to take it though but it will be impossible not to read your answers in the process. And naturally that would ruin EVERYTHING wouldn't it?

Yeah, that's creapy, except I too know the urge to just make my character sleep until the next happy festival. There are actually no festivals in this Harvest Moon, just special events. ...and you can't marry the girls, either...I'm missing out on a lot here!

You can't marry in StH? As in not have a woman bear you kids? I always imagined that getting offspring was like Harvest moon's Ultimate Goal (along with building the hot springs and frequently attending festivals). Now that little farmer guy may always feel as though something highly essential is lacking in his life.

I always thought Harvest Moon's Ultimate Goal was making money...which is sad and lonely, sorry, never mind ^^* Well, you have to get friendly with the townsfolk to get a proper ending, and then in some of the endings the little farmer guy does have a girl fall in love with him, but not all of them. ...actually, in some of the endings, he apparently ends up being Best Friends with some of the male townspeople, so maybe that leaves room for love between guys? No babies in either case, though. I guess we'd have to ask our little farmer man how he feels about relationships. Maybe he's happy just having a cow give him golden milk.
