Looking at the reviews for Tales of Fandom vol. 2 (Luke Version) on amazon.jp, it slowly came to me that out of 28 reviews:
only one was written after the game was released.
That...just strikes me as really odd. I think I stared at my monitor for a full ten seconds as it set in. (I was going to write something crabbier in Japanese, but I have no IME so I'd just feel like a tool 8D)
One more yucky thing that happened today: my shopping list for Japan has definitely cleared $510. Shoot.
The other good thing that happened today: I saw Casino Royale, FINALLY, and it was extremely satisfactory. My most outrageous thought is that I think this is the first Bond that I could see with kitty ears/tail.
Yes. Yes, the moe has me. I am ailing. Yes.

Uh, I mean.
Well, that's the thing, this James Bond can still be macho. It's just that now he has those oh-so-accessible little ears *_*

Leave some room in your shopping list for random doujin/manga and games you might find! You don't know what you'll come across...

Your suggestion is wise...actually, I don't know why, but I'm really happy to hear it. :< It's likely that I won't find everything on my wishlist. I'll have left over money that I must spend or die (or, even worse, change back into dollars and lose money), and I'll end up buying something I never even heard of. But I'm trying to avoid that, because I sort of got bitten on the ass last year at Otakon when I went in with a fistful of money and no idea how to spend it. Same thing for Kinokuniya NYC in years past. And...I just like to have lots and lots of time to decide whether to buy something. Gives me a sense of control. =-=

But Book-off...I forgot about Book-off. And you have a good point with the emergencies, too.

I daydream about Book-Off. *embarassed* I used to buy FY and Rayearth comics in English for almost $30 a volume, 100 yen for a tankoubon is unimaginable *_*

Man. I'm still getting over the fact that raw manga in Japan is basically $4-5 a book. I don't think I could handle it if the books I wanted were 100 yen (81 CENTS!!!!!) apiece. I'd just start bawling right there in the store.
I do research light novels when I buy them, but manga tankoubon are easier because the art on the cover or in the advertisement is often useful in deciding what the book will look like. =_= And I can think of several examples where I was able to read the series (in a magazine, or by borrowing a couple books) and liked it before even buying the tankoubon (which reminds me, I need to buy the rest of MAX Lovely). I tend to follow authors, too (TANEMURA ARINA?)...
Hey. Is there anything you want me to look for for you? Like maybe some Cooseltel no Ryuujutsushi, if there's anything from that you don't have? Or...obscure Haruhi goods? New Haruhi books?

Pretty close, yeah. FY was $24 Canadian + %15 tax, and Rayearth was about $20 (damn comics store marking up the price, they totally ripped me off). Only one volume of Tamahome!!!! Miaka!!!! etc obliterated my savings. XDDD (But it was worth it! except when the fanservice was too embarassing.) And the trouble I went to to get hold of Rayearth! I ordered them from the local chain bookstore and it took a YEAR before they admitted they couldn't get them and gave me back my money.
Ah, and then there was the CCS manga with horrible translations, where all the pages fell out. Nowadays when I see good-quality manga for $15 at the local mall I laugh out loud.
...I sound like an old lady. 8D
When I went to NY Book-Off for the first time I nearly exploded. 8D Manga for $1 to $3 US! It's terrible. If I lived near a Book Off I wouldn't be able to restrain myself.
I like to follow authors too, but I have the terrible habit of buying the first volume of a series and not following up, especially when it's fairly long. I want more Tengai Retrogical and ToS manga...!
Thanks so much for the offer! However, I really can't afford to buy more manga now (I have a Yesasia order of several books to pay off, as well as some other stuff). I need a job! x_x

When I went to Book-Off NYC, it wasn't really the manga that got me. It was downstairs...oh, downstairs. With anime drama CDs for $7 or $15 a pop. And COOKBOOKS! I got 5 used cookbooks for a buck apiece! *_* Man, I gotta go back and complete my Mrs. Bell collection.
Oh, okay then. :3 I hope you get to pay it off. But I'll keep you in mind, and if I see something that fits, that isn't too extravagant, it can be a gift :D

When I see stuff like Tokyo Babylon or Angel Sanctuary in the local store I seriously blink. It's like, they have THAT in the mall by my old high school, the presence of such two opposing elements should cause space to spontaneously combust! Or something.
CDs... yeah. I'd like to start collecting some music CDs, stuff like Cocco or Spitz or RADWIMPS. Or the drama CDs for series that weren't animated, especially the limited-edition mail-order only stuff! Ahh.
What I have a weakness for is artbooks - like collections of paintings by Monet and Rembrandt. I have a book of sketches by Da Vinci that is TEH AWESOME. Oh, and concept art. When I have money there are like ten settei shiryuu shou books that have my name on them :E
Thanks, but don't worry about it. I hope you enjoy your trip!

Usually for me it's the yaoi. Like, "but won't someone say gay comics aren't allowed?"
I'm really not a CD person, but the dramas are good for a few yuks.
Thank you, I won't. ^-^ I don't want to burden you with burdening me...er...you have a nice summer, too.

The only question is whether you've got $500 to blow. : )

Permission in advance is partly what I'm doing. It's going to be stressful enough lugging all those books from Ikebukuro to Shinjuku, I don't need the worrying and deciding on the side.

I've added dino figurines to my list of Things To Buy, mostly because I found this adorable feathered deinonychus from Kabaya and lord knows I can never have too many dromaeosaurs
because I'm a total geek. Well, if I can find them, that is. XDFrom:

Dinosaurs! Then my trip to Harajuku Kiddyland won't be just for me :D
