Dinner last night was broiled salmon, chawan mushi, spinach ohitashi, miso soup with tofu and wakame, and rice with asari clams.

The spinach and the miso were the only things that were homemade. In fact, I didn't MAKE dashi for them, either, but...who makes that nowadays, right!? Chawan mushi was microwaved, clam rice came from an envelope, salmon was cooked entirely by my mother. Oh well. I liked it, and it fooled my parents into calling me an amazing cook.

A couple days ago I made shiratama, which are more or less little boiled lumps of rice flour. This is an event worth recording because kneading the dough is wicked fun. Every recipe for this I have ever read says the dough is the right consistency if it feels like earlobes. Is it not kind of cool to make it yourself and grope it to discover that IT REALLY DOES?

Tonight I made something a cookbook calls "Zunda Shiratama." This recipe added tofu to the dough, and the topping was an edamame paste sweetened with sugar and, uh white miso? I expected it to taste kind of vegetable-y salty sweet, and instead it was...like maple syrup and eggs. My father loved it. The shiratama were good, too. I kinda wanna add tofu to them every time I make them in the future. (Maybe not for a while, though.)

I had some pretty low expectations because this recipe comes from a Japanese book of low-calorie recipes. One of its recipes is a mousse of grilled red peppers---that's supposed to be sweet. Another recipe is "financiers" filled with marzipan or whatever. The catch is that the wrapping that the paste goes in contains tomatoes and basil.

It's my book of desserts that have strayed from the path of good.

I spent $30 on the item shop. I don't really feel like I need the money from selling CS goods, I just...really felt like I needed some pets and that maid outfit. Ahah, what? Yeah, so I blew some money on the grab bags, and I got a Permanent Nurse outfit.

I'm not sure. Am I lucky for even getting a permanent outfit? :< When I first got it, I found myself unable to sell it off, and my character was a doctor, so I put it on. And started wearing around. I thought, I'll model it 'till I sell it. Then I thought, I'll sell it in a few days. Then I thought, I'll sell it in a while. Now I think maybe I'll...never sell it? :<

Annoying guy is not bothering me in DOMO. I presume that he quit because he thought he'd succeeded in finding and grooming his next rape victim, or, to be more outrageous, because he's playing Orange Box. He does poke me on AIM. Yeah, you wonder why I'm not around anymore.

This, however, has not decreased the number of stupid creepy people on the internet. Whenever I use my sprite girl (name of Pudding), people, guy people, who are taller than my character, follow me around and talk about how cute I am and...one said he was putting Pudding on his shoulders...maybe he said OH SHIT when we had a love line because he couldn't withstand any temptation? Another one agreed to let me call him Daddy. Well, I did suggest it, but...FUCK OFF OKAY. THE INTERNET IS A SCARY PLACE FOR A VAGINA.

If at any time I can actually stay awake long enough, I have homemade DOMO presents for Runan, Kithal, and MP. (Good drops. And alchemy products.)

P.S. I burned my hand making the zunda shiratama and it hurts :(

P.S.S. Is Cloverleaf out yet? Not because I want to see it, but because I need to read spoilers on the web. No movie I can remember has ever perpetrated this sort of nonsense and I must punish it by finding out what the monster is without paying.

Oooooh, presents. *_*

...Sadly I am sleepy right now and staring at the computer screen is making me sleepier. Why can I never fall asleep when I want to, but I can never stay AWAKE when I have things I want to do?

If you like, we could make a plan to meet tomorrow night at like 8 or 9 PM? If night isn't good, then I can basically do any time after, say, 9 AM? =_= OH GOD I'M NOT NOCTURNAL ANYMORE If Kithal and MP are able to be present, they are welcome, too. We can kill that frog king >:3

One of your presents is 100 Scrolls >:D (I still have to make the other present.)

Scrolls~! :D ...Now I just need more then one spell to use them on.

I might be able to go on tonight, and if not, definitely tomorrow. I'm a little tired right now since I just got back from class, but sometimes I'm wide awake at night.

Also, I did the same thing with "The Mist"...looked all over the web for spoilers. I hope the cloverfield monster isn't lame, like some godzilla thing or a giant bug or something.

I read The Mist spoilers, too, and frankly I'm all but too happy I did instead of seeing the movie. Apparently it had ridiculous heartwrenching scenarios and not enough SCARY FUN COOL MONSTER FIGHTING STUFF. In fact, that's mostly what I'm expecting from Cloverfield, once I get some detailed spoilers. It'll have lots of people being getting killed in gruesome ways, and they won't even hint at where the damn monster came from. >:| Way to blow a chance at having a really awesome monster premise.

It's "Cloverfield", and not it doesn't come out until Friday. My theater is showing it at midnight on Thursday night but I won't see it until next Tuesday.

Take note: if you spoil this for me, I'll harvest your ovaries. >:|

This is one of those movies where it's like a rollercoaster or amusement park park ride-- the experience is what's important so it's best to walk into it not knowing what to expect.

Oh, what, because you won't GO on rollercoasters? >:/ Shut your piehole, I wasn't planning on spoiling you.

And when I wrote "Cloverleaf," it was past my bedtime. FUCK OFF.

You know, there's a collaborative comic series here now called Cloverfield/Kishin...

Also, I completely managed to miss all the hubbub until today where I saw the news about the collaboration. What's the hype all about?

From: [identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com

It's a horror movie with a big viral marketing campaign. For instance, they've taken pains to make some products specific to the movie available in reality. Also, the ads on TV contain some rather provocative imagery, namely of a headless Statue of Liberty, and of New York City being abruptly smashed to smithereens.

でもKishinって鬼神デスカー? 高層ビルの五倍の高さの鬼がニューヨークシティーで暴れまわるー? とか。
