I was on AIM yakking with Kithal during that conversation. You are certainly invited---it would be fun to be able foam at you in real-time. How about you drop me a line on AIM when you start RO? If that's to your liking. LJ's fine, but my response time will likely be slower. :3
As for what messenger is in vogue these days, it's not...really...there isn't one ^^; I am satisfied with the one I have that does multiple IM services. Another friend I have really likes MSN messenger.
