I've already talked this over with several people, and mostly my problem is like this: I travel to eat, but I have a fundamental disagreement with about half the foods Germany is famous for, so why the fuck would I get on a flight of several hours to go there? The solution that comes most readily is for me to turn it into a trip to a fairytale world they have gorgeous landscapes that are too beautiful to ever possibly exist, and lots of cake. So basically like Japan, only all the savory food is really cholesteroltastic, and instead of knowing what I'm doing and where I'm going because I can read the signs, I have to depend on someone else for stupid shit like that.

Officially, Amestris is supposed to resemble Britain, but US fans almost all seem to agree that it's Germany. It might be fun, and it might be depressing. As in, oh wow, this is where Hei died! And this is where Ed lived with Hei without ever knowing Hei wanted to sex him! And this looks EXACTLY like the place where Ed was pining for

One of the things that's bothering me is that I would really like to go to the UK, or, like...Luxembourg...and I can't see myself going to Europe just for that. I brought this up with my mom who pretty much said, "no, this trip is for Grandma, and she is very suggestible i.e. what you want, so don't say anything to her." I agree with wanting Grandma to have her dream vacation, but I'm going too and hay guise cant we comprimizzzze?? :( (Is that really sucktastic? Kind of worried it is.)

I do love my Grandma to pieces, but golly gee, I do have legitimate concerns (my parents know), and if I am a member of her group of travelers, perhaps I could be accomodated? She's offering to take me and my parents along because we took her to Japan, and in April Mom'll take her to Italy (yeah, really). Yeah, she wants to have fun overseas, but she also wants us to have fun overseas on her dollar. She's proved in the past that she loves me even if I am not polite or adorable---if I had to grin and bear her hospitality by going to Germany, we would both be very sad and emo :(
So maybe not going somewhere else, but...something...there's gotta be something.

I'm pretty sure Germany's history is far away and shameful enough to its natives that I wouldn't have to think about it a lot while I was there. I try to think of its present state: a wealthy European country with trains, good health care, and pretty mountains. But, uh, yeah, would really rather not go to any holocaust museums. T_T
Yeah, the cake would probably be thumbs up. I could expect some nice gingerbread or piped cookies, too.

Yeah, I'm sure it's a really nice country; my brother's planning a trip to Europe and I'm pretty sure Germany's on his list. It's just for me, if I was planning a trip, the order would be JAPAN!!!!!!>Israel (I've been there twice but I like it)>Holland>the South of France because of the paintings XDDD;
All I can think of in terms of German food is sausages and beer OTL You could ask for a side trip to Belgium, that has chocolate and pancakes right? If it's just a few days instead of a complete change in plans it might not be too expensive.

I was thinking more along the lines of the owner of the cleavage exploding with rage, as they always do in a harem anime. Winry throwing wrenches because Ed never calls is really only one step away from Winry blasting Ed into the atmosphere because he stumbled into her cleavage. Roy would play the part of the naughty sidekick who hooks the main character up with all the girls. (For another twist, Roy would be the evil but unlikely older woman who thinks it's hysterical when Ed walks into her ta-tas and spazzes out.)

Can't say I'm very familiar with that kind of

Except in flashbacks where he's like a puppy ;_; (an explosive, dangerous, EMO puppy) But this raises the question, what about Havoc? <-secretly a fan of Havoc Neesan type?Hawkeye would make a really hot guy too, since we're on the topic (no actually we're not but I dismiss that cavalierly).

Sakura was probably eating mini sausages, widely accepted as part of a Western breakfast in Japan. I heard once eons ago that you can cut "legs" into one half of a sausage, and then when you boil it, the legs curl up like tentacles.
Flashback Roy = overwhelmed in every possibly way, damaged, unstable etc. By the way, does Hughes and Roy remind you of Zax and Cloud? Especially with the parts about the mentor dying, the younger guy being adorable, army traumatizing everyone etc.? Going off-topic, oh my god SOLDIER Cloud is so cute I just wanna hug him and pat him on the head and chase him around everywhere. And make him soup. And put a blanket on him when he sleeps.

Oh, I see! Thanks for the explanation. You can do something similar with radishes by cutting notches and leaving them in water for an hour. They look like roses. ^^ (In that cheesy playing-with-your-food type way)
I don't remember that much about that part of the manga, but yeah! :) I love seeing characters when they were young and cute because it adds an extra dimension to their appeal.
That said, it's actually really painful how Roy's ideals were completely shattered there. And the author doesn't shrink from showing the nastiness of a situation so it's Aaaaagh I want more Roy scenes in the manga now. *shakes fist* Not enough Ling either. *big fan of Xingese characters* *wants an OAV* *uses asterisks*
They are cute. I read ciceqi's FF7 fic for Zack+Cloud-ness. XD (Have you read it? Her Mascotverse stories are adorable and funny :) And she also includes Aeris, which is nice. I would be super happy if I could find a good story with Reeve in it, because I like Reeve, but.) Are you playing Crisis Core, then?

GIRL KYON IS SO CUTE T_T It's like a shoujo manga in this version! You know, there's the obnoxiously strong guy who pulls her into his plans and there are several cute guys who save her from the forces of evil and secretly love her, but only she can rescue him from his EMO and save the world with her love and moe ponytail! And the sizable segment of Nagato-kunxKyonko fans will GO DOWN WITH THEIR SHIP and and and uh this really is completely braindead. My grandchildren will see this comment in sixty years and disown me. re: Roy I have my own fantasy that he was a star student in military school: excruciatingly smart, but not particularly strong socially and very naive. Then they sent him to burn civilians to death. Hughes, who was always the friendly guy in his class, saw another classmate with great potential floundering around with no support, and stepped in to give Roy hugs and cuddles. ...ってのはダメかな。ダメね。ハイ。
re: Cloud I read ciceqi's fanfic about Cloud getting a Mako shot and seeing PRETTY COLORS!!!!! @_@ And Zax and Aeris help him. I'm aware that she's written what looks like volumes about Sephiroth/Zax/Cloud/Aeris. If you're looking for Reeve, what I think of first is Conscience of the King (http://www.midgar.net/king/). It's mainly Rufus x Reeve, and it's rated NC-17. The also Turks make frequent awesome appearances, Tifa plays an important role and even Scarlet has a moment (just one. She's still an idiot). Alternatively, if you don't visit BishounenInk every so often, you should, because they are an institution among video game fangirls. They include Reeve in their FF7 stories, the one I remember best being the Christmas one, but there are others.
re: all the genderswitch, I would love it if Ling was a naughty tomboy princess and Lan Fan was her loving but exasperated knight. Al seems almost TOO likely a candidate for genderswitch. His body language as a suit of armor is occasionally strikingly feminine, and, of course, his voice. =_=
I'm not sure this is anything you'd be willing to look at, but have you seen the doujinshi where...Yuki...announces...that Kyon...has a computer sex virus that will make him horny and then kill him or something...and she has um analyze his output...but that doesn't work...so she insists that he hook directly into her input...etc. ...all told, I think it's more hysterically funny than sexy. Unfortunately I don't even know what it's called.
...I can't believe I wrote this much about porn. u_u Ummm re: food that gets cute while cooking, there's a lot of onion "blossoms," here. They cut the onion before cooking, bread it, deep-fry it whole, and the cut strips poof out into things that taste like onion rings. LOL who am I kidding, that is a common find is family restaurants, I AM NOT COMPETING TO FIND CUTE FOOD REALLY I'M NOT.

...As a general rule I avoid H, so no I haven't read that doujin. ;) (I don't read fanfics like that either though I will read fanservicy manga like Air Gear or Enchanter if the plot/art are good) But I'm a fan of Nagato/Kyon (and even Kyon/Mikuru, dammit, they're aaagh so cute) Which raises the question WHEN will we get a release date for Haruhi season 2!!! Not only is that getting delayed but the novels have been on hiatus for months now too. :( I'm happy to get more Clannad, but still!
