I don't feel so determined to write in my journal that I have to reach for subjects, but some of the recent "writer's block" questions Livejournal has offered me are interesting. Okay, SUP. This is me, biting.

Assuming I would be in a JRPG (and I would): a light but functional dress that makes my boobs and neck look good and goes down to the knees, tough and comfortable knee-high boots, and something to cover that, such as an apron, or a shawl and a buttcape. Frills, curlicues, and lace are the decorations of choice, probably as the hems on a couple things I wore. I would also like to wear something on my head that is pretty but sturdy, probably erring on the pretty side. I think the overall look would be girl next door character archetype.
Continuing with the JRPG thought, I can't really see myself as any archetype but a magic user...or maybe Super Chef/Fangirl? Ahh. I'd like to have a pretty magic wand for a weapon but I can see where this is going. My ultimate weapon is going to be the Mythril Ladle or the All-Purpose Knife or the Crystalpan C6 har har u_u

Paro, only with something inside that gives very mild, uniform heat---90 degrees fahrenheit would be good. I would also like Paro to breathe sofly when it sleeps.

I miss my dog. She's a person, it counts. I miss her because it's still thunderstorm season. She was scared of thunderstorms, so even when her people couldn't hear thunder, she would come find us and push everything else out of the way to get as close as possible and shiver and pant. And I miss this.

Assuming I had all the resources I do now (i.e. some money and no criminal record), I would immigrate to Japan. I think I would try to get a job in the country somewhere north of Tokyo but close enough to the big city to visit for important porn purchases. If not, oh well, I guess I'm going to have to live in squalor and doujinshi.
I kind of like the US. The only reason I'd really leave is under the outrageously unlikely circumstance that I was drafted for x y or z war. I'm inclined to think that Japan would be in cahoots with the US and just arrest me the second I got there, so instead, I'd try to sneak into Australia.
I hope I don't get in trouble for doing 4 at once. UR DOING IT WRONG.
SOOOOO. Tales of Vesperia is out. But, well, now all I can do is wait for walkthrough websites to update with the goods. D: I HAVE been informed by the Japanese TOV wiki that there are new foods on the list of basic recipes. Mackerel in miso is certainly the most ambitious, but this page also lists Yuri as the character who develops sherbet into creme caramel into strawberry shortcake. 8D A MAIN CHARACTER WHO'S GOOD AT MAKING DESSERT? And I could put laxatives in the mabo curry when Kyle shows up and snitches some...I thought Lilith was even easier to fight with than Philia, and while it's probably just because she has so many good skills, I'm haunted by the idea that I have some sort of compatibility with her...archetype, I guess. I'm not saying I would like to be Lilith, I'm saying I seem doomed to land up managing some helpless RPG hero and then losing him to the first bimbo that bounces into the party >:| (Suppose I was trying to hook him up with his male rival?! Slash slash! Lilith's voice drives me nuts, it's THAT sweet. OTL But she does have a pet baby dragon, that's pretty awesome... I wish she had more cutscenes with the other characters.
Why would you want to pair him with the rival? Wouldn't you rather keep him for yourself?

I don't like Lilith's voice because it's like...it wobbles sometimes, and it sounds like the voice actress is having a hard time. But I do like, まんぼう戦吼! 飛んでけっ HOW cool is it that she hits monsters with a big honkin' sunfish? THAT cool.
I wish they showed the female characters making friends with Lilith more. Everybody except Mary had an uneasy truce with her. ._.
I WAS JUST SUPPOSING. You're partially right, though. I think in most cases I'd rather just let the hero have his bimbo and run away with the rival. FOR INSTANCE: if I was Lloyd's adopted sister/girl next door and Kratos showed up? (’∇‘)ノ Screw you, Lloyd, I'm running away to Altamira with your father!!!!! (This is not to say that Colette is a bimbo---I actually like to see her with Lloyd.)

Lilith kicking Kongman's ass just felt like it came at the wrong time, which is a shame, because I wanted to see someone shut him up. I never really saw that he had a reason for threatening Ilene other than that she was rich and she existed in Neueschtadt. And then that stuff with Philia, ew.
Oh god. I want more KratosAnna >< I want to be Lloyd's mom and carry him around and teach him stuff! I just, you know, don't want to die a terrible death .-.

Poor Karol. Maybe when he has this costume on he can use a specially deadly hi-ougi, just to make up for it? 8D The cover pic is completely defensible though.
...Apparently the game doesn't have as much of the dialogue voiced as Abyss does, so it is my pet theory that for the port they will add that in as an incentive. *nod nod* /wishful thinking
Hmm, I didn't really analyze Kongman so much because it was like hello, all of a sudden there is an enormous side of beef in my party. What are you doing here? Oh, you're gone? Okay, bye. Wait, why are you coming back? He just felt like a completely extraneous joke character, which is mostly what he is. Actually I wouldn't have minded that much if the final party turned out to only be the Swordian masters, since the others have nothing to do but support them.
Anna makes a good standin, but her fate was so sad T_T You do know Naki-nishi mo arazu, right? That one fanart site? My mental image of Anna is mostly from there (and partly from this truly long and horrible fic that I still can't believe I read, because the author couldn't spell, but never mind.) But there is so much potential for honobono (and also angst) in the setting. And there's so much fun to be had playing with the notion of what would have happened if events had fallen out a tiny bit differently...
I would also completely support a spinoff about the Kharlan War, incidentally. Not that anyone asked.

Oh...oh no, I thought the non-Swordian characters were fully participating party members! Well, the girls were, anyway. I almost always preferred Chelsea over Woodrow, and Lilith was great...I loved how Mary told Kongman to put some freaking clothes on (AND MARY'S HUSBAND HAD ROY'S VOICE ACTOR <333). I guess the problem is that they don't have Swordian devices to automatically make their stats better, but I thought that using the right accessories helped a lot. Kongman, on the other hand... >_> I gave him the narikiri Leon the second he joined, and I never took it off. I'd rather forget he ever joined the party.
Presumably they will also add fanservicey things like in Symphonia PS2, such as: Flynn stuff!!!

I think of them as the most honobono pairing ever thrown into the angstiest situation ever. u_uI would enjoy a spinoff about the Kharlan war that wasn't necessarily about Mithos and co. Fandom vol. 2 did a little of that, but mostly what I remember is Kratos' origin >:3 It wasn't really history, just some character interaction.

Maybe it was just my impression since generally my party consisted of Stahn, Rutee, Philia and either Leon or Woodrow. I do like Mary quite a bit (and Dalis! I wanted him to join so there could be an all-Phandaria team) though. Johnny is lots of fun ("Shibirero~!") even if he feels sort of incidental to the party - he joined late, and always makes comments from the outside looking in. Kongman I wrote about already and Chelsea is basically Woodrow's short, pink-haired and squeaky shadow. It's just that after, hmm, that one cave that is marked in infamy the plot really zeroes in on the Swordian masters...
Which is not to say I didn't still enjoy the skits where everybody participates. I could have done with about twice as many (and I always especially liked the skits where Mary asks about the personality of the Swordians)

I think Philia and Woodrow had more interesting plot in the first half, but the second half definitely focuses on Stahn, Rutee, and Leon. (I can't think of where to fit in a "the real heroine" joke! Woe is me.)
...I like the skit where everyone's like, gee, it's hot here, are you okay Mary? And her card falls down. Poor girl.

Mary participates in a lot of fun skits, or is just generally doing weird stuff on the side all the time. Like that time in Noischtat where she's mourning her popsicle.
