I basically have three friends that I talk to on AIM every day. Recently, two of them talked about continuously reloading the Dr. Horrible page hoping that a new installment would arrive, because it was SO GOOD! Then I went over Yang's house on Saturday---he's the third one, and he put it on his gigantic computer monitor for us to watch.
One of my favorite fantasies is running away with the villain, beating up the hero, fixing the world, and growing old with my villain, three cats that he actually kind of likes, too, and living in a hideout with weird villain decorations. Or we would die young and beautifully and make the hero feel really guilty, anyway, gee, it started out looking like maybe the girl would fall for Dr. Horrible and I would have my fantasy. But the very moment the "hero" appeared, I knew it was going to turn into one of those things where they make the girl choose between two assholes. Clear as a bell, I thought, "She needs to dump both these fuckers and get a real boyfriend."
Both men are idiots, it's just that Dr. Horrible is covertly an idiot. Did anyone notice him dismissing the girl's own attempts to save the world, so he could steal a rare mineral and freeze her so they could dance in the laundromat? Yeah. Did anyone notice him trying to get the girl to change her mind, with very unattractive acts of force and cruelty, no less? Yeah. Did she even have a name? Oh, excuse me for not noticing, I know I'm sexist. She was boring, nurturing, kind, good---even she gave me nothing to hang on to and enjoy. Then she died, still boring and kinda dumb, to change Dr. Horrible. She died to change a man.
That's how I took it. Sorry.
Yang and I also watched Advent Children. I had never seen it before. I am a bad fan, and also I was afraid it would be too bittersweet, darnit I hate that stuff. It wasn't sad! It was fun! Pretty! Also more than a little senseless. Pretty! Unfortunately I when the movie ended I was not entirely sure that Tifa and Cloud were going to get together. I played Final Fantasy 10, okay? I wanted Tifa to jump in the pool and stick her tongue in Cloud's mouth, too, but she didn't! I say that this is unfortunate because I now find it even easier to pair Cloud and Sephiroth, or Tifa and Aeris. Rufus and the Turks (which should be a band name if it isn't already) were far and away the best part of the movie.Reno is the bitch
I spent the weekend at the country estate. This morning I was awake enough to go down to the brook, sit on a rock, stick my feet in the water, and take videos of the sunshine coming through the trees. The air was just the right temperature, and even without bug repellent I only got one bug bite. Wow, cool, man!

AC is great if you take it as what it is, a ridiculous story with awesome graphics and your favorite characters blowing stuff up. And yes, the Turks steal every scene they're in. :D

I think the slapstick really does wonders for what is otherwise an emofest. Reno smacking Rude in the face with his nightstick! Reno getting locked out by Cloud and then fangirling for Rude! Rude and Reno trying to climb a building and falling down all over the place! Good god, they're wonderful. There should be a reverse FF7...where there's the same dating system, except you play as Elena, and the targets are guys, and Cloud and friends are the bad guys but Cloud and Vincent are targets too. YEAH.

(anyhow, gotta love firefly, even if it's just to stare at Nathan Fillion for a while.)
..and just to be sure, there are 3 episodes of Dr. Horrible, right? I caught them back when they came out in July, and haven't played with the site since.. (perhaps the good doc can bring her back from the grave? ..or just good old cartoon type revenge on Nate :P)

I don't know how many episodes there were because I basically watched it all in one go, but it felt like 45 minutes to an hour. At this point I think I would only settle for both men shutting their traps and being the girl's personal world-saving volunteer harem. (Yeah, I know, I'm being outrageous, but that's what I want.)

As for Firefly--yeah, Inara. On the one hand, she's badass and beautiful, but then, that's what we have Zoe for. On the other, she's essentially just glamorizing prostitution. And then there were all those "defending her honor" scenes that annoyed me because guys, she IS a whore, no matter how nicely you put it. I don't know, I kind of ignored her.
...Ahaha, AIM...seriously, it's gotten to the point where I don't even know how to use it anymore. I'm a bad person. ._.

You don't have to use AIM, either, but you're welcome anytime. I mostly spam my friends with funny pictures from 4chan and talk about how much I like x y or z male anime character. And lecture people on feminism ahahahah ._.
I don't think it's bad to defend a person from being insulted or hurt, but it makes me wonder if they would have done it if she did something else for a living. Also I'm just disappointed that they put in the sex and prostitution---what does that have to do with anything?
