I MADE A GREEN TEA CAKE GUYS!!!

Bird on plate: FUCK YEAH CAKE

I'm not that pleased with the flavor. It's too bitter. D'oh. I don't have it in me to do the same thing twice so I guess this is the last time I'll make it for a while.

I have purchased rose, violet, and lavender syrups for flavoring desserts. I won't have anything to do with the lavender one (it's for mom), but those other ones are gonna make something nice. Like...ice cream!

rose and violet syrups? I'm so jealous! Where'd you get them? I haven't seen them in the states, since people seem to be really odd about the prospect of eating flowers here.

There's the problem of candied violets being outrageously expensive (http://www.amazon.com/India-Tree-Candied-Violets-6-5/dp/B000GPHING/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=grocery&qid=1238873580&sr=1-1) that might drive people off. I think it's the fact that you often have to produce a perfect specimen without pesticides, and nobody has time for that in large quantities when a bunch of men think it's gay anyway. ._. I myself got into it because rose-flavored desserts are catching in Japan, but largely among women. :P

If you do a search on the amazon grocery for Monin syrups you'll see what I ordered.

You're on a roll~ That looks really good!

Do you have an ice cream maker? My sister makes some really good homemade ice cream.

We do! We haven't used it in years, though. I think it's in the basement somewhere.
