-Wow, look, I can't stop making entries about food. .-. Someone needs to get a food blog! Or make a guest appearance in a certain friend's food blog. Hurr. I have things to talk about, but I think "oh noes, I can't put them in the same entry as the food stuff, that's too long so I'll put it up tomorrow," and then never put it up the next day...

-People complaining about Little Match Girl (new idolm@ster music) being totally 80s HAHAHAHAHAHA. Okay guys, what's idolm@ster supposed to make us think of? Because there was a time when pretty girls who couldn't necessarily sing ruled Japan. Haha I feel old ._.

-I've been infected with the Geddan meme (a million years too late) and gone back to the longcat song. Also, HOW ABOUT THAT PUDDI PUDDI? Imagine my glee at the premier hive of scum and villainy being infected with an adorable childish voice singing "puripuripuripuri giga purin!" I couldn't care less about evil being converted to sugary goodness, it's the evil being exposed to something that doesn't take the evil seriously. Teenage boys foaming at the mouth and crying because they can only talk in pictures! All right. I also had some problems with trying to do the new idolm@ster dance to Speedy Cat.

-I have a million billion tabs open in two browser windows. Help. (Most of them are corgi pictures.)

-Last month I was involved with a friend writing for Nanowrimo. I want to say I betaed, but it's an AU FMA fic involving an original character that we crafted together over the course of a week or so. His name is Rian and I have named myself his fairy godmother. My friend did not finish, but she plans to make this fanfic into her big bang fic.

-I have discovered the unpleasant pastime of noticing where certain characters are made to look like idiots in comparison to certain other characters in certain crossover games. Or even not in crossover games, as in IRL: "you fans complained that we made Colette too obviously fanservicey! So Tear is a heroine that doesn't pander even though she has cat ears, a maid costume, and a "tsundere" appreciation for cute things! Yay! Play fun fun Abyss even though Tear is stupid, mean, and useless, not stupid Symphonia even though Robin cried for Colette!"

-My parents think it's fun to drive to faraway places and let me spend lots of money. I haven't been to any asian supermarkets in Boston in three months, and when I said I wanted to make a giant shopping trip, my parents were like, let's drive down, spend the night IN A HOTEL, and drive back. And yeah, that's what we did. Not an expensive hotel though. Boy, H-Mart sure does have nice produce and meat, huh? Except the strawberries were rotting. Whatever, I'm not buying those there anyway. Note to self: a supermarket IN THIS AREA had persimmons, roasted chestnuts, nappa, and daikons, so STFU.

-Oh yeah, I downloaded the Tales of Graces demo. And oh yeah, I played it for the first time today. Like, 10 days after the game came out. Haha. I was curious. It doesn't look bad but even after avoiding preordering, I continue to hesitate. That is a big deal. It's not fear of bugs or wasting my money. I really like Tales games, but Namco's behavior...is not okay. Part of it is that I hope that by hesitating in buying the next game, I could have an effect on Namco, but probably not. The other part of it is that I am convinced that if I buy the PS3 version now I'm going to hell a bad person who walked over the poor Wii people to have her shiny finished game. ??? What the hell? What kind of business makes customers feel that way? Sickening. I'm not buying it yet.

-When I hit Ebisuya I noticed that there was a new chocolate intended to emulate pudding in both shape and flavor, a pudding flavor of Apollo, and probably something else I forgot. And there was a bar of some kind of chocolate from H-Mart that had butterscotch filling. Is Japan having a custard/caramel boom? Am I imagining things because of my recent prolonged exposure to PUDDI PUDDI? If pudding is in, is it because it's simple and doesn't require an oven, making it a suitable recession dessert? Does anybody else like to make Karol cook pudding in Vesperia? Overall, I think crepes are way way easier to make, and parfaits only require the cook to gather and arrange ingredients. The most powerful recipe should be the one with GENOISE and CHANTILLY CREAM. Whatever, man, I know you made sukiyaki and sushi and tempura some of the best recipes because Americans know them. Ahem. The next entry should involve pudding.

-I have an announcement I want to make in an entry of its own. It's important but I'm not sick or anything.

-I listened to the new idolm@ster image songs for Chihaya/Takane/Makoto. And. Like. Okay, the first set was stupid.
Haruka = watery pop rock trying to sound cool and relaxed but fresh and edgy, not even soulless enough to be interesting, also repetition of the same english word many times because I guess someone forgot to write more lyrics (THIS IS TOO FREQUENT IN THE LAST YEAR OR SO), also "adorable" optimism as opposed to "unkillable, unstoppable, anti-logical" optimism.
Hibiki = everyone is bored (but the covers were great, please don't stop, OMG Namida Sousou)
Miki = you're a moe puppet anyway and if your song sounds dramatic but it's optimistic, it doesn't count

Chihaya = When this song started everything came screeching to a halt. I didn't know what was happening to me until halfway through, when I found myself gasping for air like I was physically or emotionally exerting myself. At the end I wanted to cry. SHUSH, I'M NOT MELODRAMATIC. It was really, really really good.
Takane = Sounds like a hip bouncy anime opening, but the lyrics are serious and even a little scary, OMG Takane ;iohiuh;iug. Also, soft airborne sound.
Makoto = I got distracted by the other two songs and this one is sort of a "soft" sound so I didn't pay as much attention. But I do think it is the most perfect match in the universe for a manga I just finished rereading. Also, Makoto getting the "tonari ni" song about loss A+++

Sleeping Princess

Some nights I fell asleep wishing
If only I could sleep forever
Because I could forget this sadness

The faraway days we spent together
The shadow and light in my memory
I still wander a labyrinth in my heart

It was a fragile dream
Yes, an ephemeral dream I saw with you
Even a sleep of a hundred years
Ends with the story someday
When you turn the last page

The sleeping princess awakens, and now, I
Will keep my eyes looking up
To take my first steps to tomorrow
Without anybody's help, even though I am alone

Even though the morning light dazzles my eyes
And my tears spill out

No matter the path of thorns
With you I didn't care
If only we could hold hands and walked together

But then the one who was next to me
Had vanished into a faraway forest
Though I reached for you, and called your name again and again

I tried, and I wished
That it was just a bad dream
Even an oath of a hundred years
Crumbles if it is a sandcastle
With our last kiss as a memory

The sleeping princess awakens, and now, I
Am in the forest of the city
Now that dawn has broken
To find the future

I must wipe my tears, to move beyond the blue light
Looking up into the sky

Everyone is born facing tomorrow
When we feel the morning and open our eyes
We are born anew
To change tears into hope

The sleeping princess awakens, and now, I
Will keep my eyes looking up
To take my first steps to tomorrow
Without anybody's help, even though I am alone

The sleeping princess awakens, and now, I
Need the help of nobody at all
To simply walk for tomorrow
Even though I am alone

Yes, now that dawn has broken
To find the future

I must wipe my tears, to move beyond the blue light
Looking up into the sky

The Lone Snowflake

Endless rainbows overlapped
And feeling the wind, I knew the meaning of "alone"
A lone snowflake danced in the shattered sky
Floated, and disappeared, feeble

The past becomes tomorrow
And in the future I am pulled into
The darkness covering my heart never brightens

My heart turns to a place outside the light
What is there? I want to be sure
At the ends of the landscape I reach when I push higher and higher
Eternity unfolds

When I am trapped and I lose my words, I remember
The lone snowflake that flew to pieces in my heart

A solitary constellation guides a story
Lights the path I follow intently

I lose my world
To live the present
The darkness that covers everything calls to me tenderly

My love turns to a place outside the light
And if there is nothing there, I don't care
I will fall, anywhere and everywhere
Bewildered by the dream I embrace fervently

I know my weak and foolish heart
Will stay a captive, just the way it is

I just wanted to go to a place outside the light
To escape the lonely landscape
At the ends of the landscape I reach when I push higher and higher
Eternity unfolds

When I am trapped and I lose my words, I remember
The lone snowflake that flew to pieces in my heart

Sleeping Princess' title is probably actually sleeping beauty but I wanted to keep the "princess" part and make it more generic. Princesses are a generic thing in fairy tales, doncha know.

Takane's song is called kazahana and I thought that was a made-up word to describe a flower on the wind, but it's not. It's an existing word that means a flurry of snow when the sky is otherwise clear, or the general snow/rain/junk on the wind in winter when nothing else is really coming down. It sounds nicer as a single snowflake but I have the feeling it's a sort of blast of snowflakes. Oh, Takane, winter is soon, and we have chestnuts and a fireplace, and we can have caramel corn and movies on the wide screen TV, and らあめん...yeah, I'm not inviting an idol to my house because she's awesome or anything.

These are reaaaaally fast translations. I think I left words out in some places because I wanted to move on. And. Tell me if you use them. Or like them.

There's nothing wrong with cute pictures! Speaking of which, http://www.flickr.com/photos/javaturtle/117152990/ TURTLE MOEEEEEEEEE

When I was in Japan we went to the Namco theme park in a mall and they have an entire shop dedicated to pudding. I was impressed. (Not by the boob pudding, though. A whole theme park full of five-year-olds and their moms and you sell stuff like this?)

I like making Flynn cook in Vesperia because of the skit where they all diss his skills. Actually, in Abyss I trained Luke into a top-class chef (because I ignored the 得意料理 ratings and just made him cook everything.) So whenever people talk about Luke being unable to cook I just get confused. XD

EVERYONE NEEDS MORE CUTE PICTURES. Even if they might be making my computer run a little slower 8D

Oh, Namjatown. I've meant to go there three times now for the ice cream city, and every time I skipped it because of the ice cream city. (I don't have the guts.) Also, you've seen strawberry daifuku, right? The kind with the whole strawberry inside, and they put the point facing up so it's this pink thing in a white round squishy daifuku...that sounds more subtle than boob pudding, though.

I, I myself like the skit where Flynn very gently explains that he prefers to eat certain foods, but he'll force down whatever you've been making him eat because food must not be wasted... >_< c-cute! He likes meat and he dislikes squid! And his reason covers Yuri's appreciation for sugar too!

I can see Luke cooking just fine, he's just sheltered and has a lot of dislikes. Natalia is the one who is going to have a hard time. ._. Flynn frustrates me because I want my imaginary boyfriends to make me goodies, and it doesn't quite make sense to me that Flynn would be a terrible cook. Even one who just tries too hard. I feel like they just stuck that on there because they needed a character who sucks at cooking :/

That must be a lot of cute pictures!

Ah, no, I haven't seen that. But seriously they have different sizes, for girls from different areas in Japan. I was like WHAT IS THIS.

Heehee. Zero no Kiseki has a cooking system too and if Tio messes up a recipe she'll say "I wasted food :(" I feel like Flynn isn't actually bad so long as you stand over him and make sure he follows the recipe XD. But I approve of men who like meat... it's my Moroccan upbringing orz

The Tales "likes and dislikes" are just weird in general. Apparently Kratos and Lloyd both hate tomatoes. Who hates tomatoes?! They're awesome~

From: [identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com

...oh my god, different sizes? ... ._. Japan...you are the most embarrassing friend I have...

Zero no Kiseki: IT HAS A COOKING SYSTEM?

REEEEALLY. 8D (I know it would be kind of awful if I started getting interested because of that so I must stop. I don't want to get anybody's hopes up.)

I approve of Flynn's tastes, too, because they make me think...domestic...things OMG FLYNN SLEEPING ////// <---MAIDEN SUBJECT CHANGE

I think the tomatoes thing doesn't make sense, but it's supposed to be more of a Big Hint anyway. If you don't notice it the first time you notice it later and laugh? This is what I did.

From: [identity profile] narugami.livejournal.com

Sora no Kiseki also has a cooking system but it was faster just to use magic so I completely ignored it (this happened to me in Vesperia too, only the skits where the characters complain that they're starving guilt-tripped me into cooking.)

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand not to be annoying, but on the subject of ZnK, if you ever run out of games to play, you get to adopt a cute kiddo as your daughter ahem, watch over her as a policeman while the investigation is ongoing. This includes subevents like taking her to Sunday school and schepping nachas/melting of moe, showing her off introducing her to everyone in town, buying her cake at the bakery, etc.

Lloyd is pretty much the only character who tries to pretend he's not completely gone over her, but then she hugs him and he's like /////////////.
