Special Bulletin

We interrupt your regular Moumusu bullshit to bring you this special bulletin:

Shinichirou Miki is going to be Roy in the new anime.

(3:07:04 PM) Robin: This is entirely beyond my ken
(3:07:08 PM) Robin: This is just too deep and complicated
(3:07:25 PM) Robin: I have to be a hermit for a decade now
(3:07:47 PM) Robin: To think about this terrible question
(3:09:02 PM) Yang: Okay
(3:09:05 PM) Yang: you need to go to a happy place
(3:09:16 PM) Robin: I'm writing an LJ journal
(3:09:17 PM) Yang: The Wacky Adventures of Quizno and the Flounder
Quizno and Flounder are Roy and Ed's nicknames, respectively, in a ridiculous AU created by Yang solely for me where "they're trying to escape from a rogue's gallery of colorful characters in a central american prison." Roy toasts his enemies, Ed can't swim.

Ookawa must be such a fucking superstar from Angelique Neo that he can't come back. Yeah, right, it would give FMA too much of an otome game image (except Miki is like all over HaruToki ahahaha). I really like Ookawa, but I also started liking Miki because his voice reminds me of Roy...moreso than Ookawa's part in Angelique reminds of Roy.

複雑複雑、超複雑、も どーしよ、どーしよーうぅー

Shinichirou Miki's voice is pretty high, and I associate Roy with a low voice like that of Tohru Ookawa. D8

Miki can do a low voice that has just the right rumble as can be seen here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEzvr8GAk54). Well, okay, I like it *_* But he can also do a high voice, even silliness, so I think he's not a bad choice. He's the actor I might have picked, had I been in charge of this (and unable to pick Ookawa hur).

I saw that news and was worried about your reaction XD;

Incidentally I can't bear to hear Yorihisa because it's like Masaomi speaking super-keigo and it drives me nuts. I don't mind other Miki roles but somehow Yorihisa is just too close OTL

[identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ufufu. Sorry to worry you :<

Yorihisa is supposed to be kind of weirdly protective anyway...I like him because I have fond memories of playing Haruka for the first time and having a hot samurai guy more or less at my disposal AHAHAHAHA >3> (I mean, you have a hot samurai guy at your disposal in basically every Haruka, but like a good romance sim fan, the first time is special for me.)

Maybe if he stopped wearing that leopard print.

sorry incoherent today

Perhaps I should have said "curious"

Well haruka 3 is my first otome game I guess? So Haruka 1 seems too simple in comparison (you know I saw people complaing about Masaomi's route on 2ch because it's too depressing/they want their Hachiyou to be 100% loyal? I was like WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU)

And yes AAGH I hate that leopard print. Why, Mizuno? ;_;

Because if he wore feathers he'd just look like Olivier? He needs to wear something else entirely .-.

Haruka 1 IS simple. You have to play the same concentration minigame over and over again...Haruka 2's 3-4 minigames was a huge improvement in working conditions for us priestesses!! OTL

I might complain if a love sim was too depressing because hello, I like my escape from real world and other depressing works of fiction (;>3>) Then again I don't have control over any of it...

Crap, Envy's going to be back too? I had interpreted certain spoilers as that he didn't survive the movie, but they're going to treat that as if all that stuff never happened now? Not that I am actually aware of what happened in that flick. I wasn't going to like, watch some anime movie that might turn out too upsetting because I feel irrationally involved or anything..!!

(They changed Envy's voice too it seems. Previous woman must have died of throat cancer or something..)

Oh well if palmtree's in, I'll have to give it a shot. Although I will probably hold back my enthusiasm for a while because it's hard to overlook how the creators kind of messed up things plotwise in the second season.

They're going to start all over again fresh, they're saying it'll be closer to the manga, and there's a decent chance the manga will end while this anime is running, so the anime staff doesn't have to make up an ending. Basically it will be like the first anime and the movie never happened. Since Envy has a voice actress, he will be in it!

I have high hopes for this. I guess making it more like the manga means less Roy x Ed subtext, so maybe it'll be really depressing and not have enough Roy...or maybe they'll fun it up just a little and have Envy dancing around and being beautiful?

[identity profile] boogietiere.livejournal.com 2009-03-07 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
OOOH I SEE, if that's the case then i'll drop the anxiety for now. If they're going for a fresh start and be more like the original story, I assume the creators can just do what they're supposed to do and draw colorful, talking pictures instead of first having to come up with pretend plots.

Hmm if I recall this correctly, in the way the original series ended, there wasn't much RoyEd prospect to speak of either, was there? So technically the manga may at least offer a more justified context for future RoyEd prison adventures.. (because some justification for a pairing is always pleasant, even though fans don't really seem to need it in the first place).

[identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
THEY SEPARATED MY OTP ||||ORZ It wasn't the justification so much as that I felt like I had to watch a horribly sad movie where my OTP was separated for the rest of eternity because it was officially endorsed and everyone else loved it. So yes, I look forward to this new iteration.

I dunno, I prefer colorful moving pictures to any attempts at creativity, seeing where creativity brought us all last time

...Is the manga less depressing than the original anime? I never got far enough to find out. If so, I *may* watch the new FMA...

...If I can ever get over how much I dislike the art style ._.;;

[identity profile] moumusu.livejournal.com 2009-03-10 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
It really depends on your definition of depressing. :/ The manga is way the more gut-wrenching, and the funny parts just aren't the same when Ed doesn't move, but hoping and wishing has actually convinced me that maybe the manga will have the ending I want. P.S. The ending I want is like this: every character I like frolicking with bluebirds and woodland animals in a sunlit field where it rains flowers, birdsong, and the sound of bells. =_________= IT COULD HAPPEN
