Mira: A spirit is...dead.
Mira: Perhaps this is a human's power after all. I must make sure.
Narration: Man holds a wish to his heart, looks up to the sky and hopes that it comes true.
Narration: In Friese Maxia, where man and spirits exist, this is how everyone lives.
Narration: Man's wishes become reality with the spirits, and the spirits are protected by man's wishes.
Narration: And thus, the master of spirits, Maxwell, is capable of being the protector of all that exists.
Narration: In this world, there is no evil to threaten that order. But if there was...perhaps it would be in the hearts of men.
Jute: Can I protect the spirits and the people, too?

"If there is evil in this world, it lies in the hearts of men."
I might have had some other things to say but this. This is controlling me now. Nothing I would write about here matters as much.
Will they make it happen? Will they connect it to an existing game?
It seems confirmed that Mira is the product of Maxwell, and Friesen Maxia is a beta world Maxwell made to see what works best in his search. He discusses this in Narikiri Dungeon X, which coincidentally shares an X with Xillia.
I would expect Origin to not be around. I kind of thought he was associated with the elves and their particular tree. However, I can see Sekundes getting a mention, considering his apparent origins and where he was found. If he appears I can totally see this game being connected with Tales of Eternia, which would, oh wow, feel very nice after all these years.
People are sorting out a timeline and saying that Xillia would be in an alternate universe with no connection other than Maxwell...but "evil in the hearts of men" was first said by a human in Phantasia. It had to come from somewhere. I mean, I think they are saying that totally came from somewhere, so maybe Maxwell is sitting around talking to people in different worlds? Or letting different worlds communicate, be still, my heart.
I hear things about this game discussing unions, joining. There were the two worlds in Symphonia, there's Aselia and Derris-Kharlan, there's the two trees from each world and probably two sets of (slightly) different spirits. If Eternia is involved, there's two more worlds, and if Vesperia is involved, there's something to combine.
I could be mixing Phantasia up with Rayearth aheh ._. but I feel like Dhaos' "wish" was discussed. And so was Mithos'? And the people who had to fight them. Now this game is about wishes too. Human wishes protect the spirits, but maybe humans want really crazy technology that kills spirits -> spirits die -> environment dies -> humans die -> humans are evil. Maybe wishes and desires will be united for a single cause. I'd just get kind of bored if it happened because humans changed their ways after learning they were destroying themselves and their world, while nothing happened to the spirits because they were right all along. We've already done that. I want spirit lives/needs/desires to be on equal ground with those of humans now. I want, like, everyone becoming a human-spirit hybrid. ._.

Environments are my favorite part of a work of fantasy.
